Ik luister daddy's gonna tell you no lie van Sun Ra. Daarin komt de regel voor "When I saw you in the record shop."

joost heijthuijsen (joosth), Saturday, 4 February 2006 19:09 (twenty years ago)

Joah.

Whiskeytown - Empty Baseball Town

Stumble into empty baseball park.
Strike one and strike two...
I guess we’re both out.

Stumble past the record store
End up at the movies.

Missy Elliott - I'm Really Hot

Hot cars and stars and strip bars
And ain't hot if I'm not there
I'm a true playa'
You can find me up in any record store

The Refreshments (Wie?) - Nada

Baby I was never cool enough
To get a job at a record store
But if I had I wouldn't want you
Wouldn't want you...

Benefit (wie wie?) - My Enemy

Theres must be a way to end this madness
At least knock him out for the count at best
I dash into a record store tryin to avoid him
Some other kids have tried but never destroyed him

http://homes.jcu.edu.au/~ccscb/darrenhanlonlyrics/lyrics/record-store.html

Reel Big Fish - Sellout

You're gonna go to the record store,
you're gonna give 'em all your money,
radio plays what they want you to hear,
they tell me it's cool, I just don't believe it

2Pac - Can't c me

Been getten worried that these square muthafuckers with nerves
Sayin they can get with us
But picture me gettin' served
My own mama say i'm thuged out
My shit be bumpin out tha record store

Enz. enz. enz.

Ik heb iemand weleens over recordstore-greed horen zingen. Als vergelijking, zeg maar. Briljant, als je het mij vraagt...

Hotel Lives (Hotel Lives), Sunday, 5 February 2006 08:38 (twenty years ago)

Freezepop - Stakeout

'I know you work across the street, in the indie record store, I’m thinking someday that we’ll meet, I’m thinking we’ll do something more.'

J.. (vervelenderegistratieprocedure), Sunday, 5 February 2006 09:36 (twenty years ago)

the girl who works in the record shop
she says that i am not avant garde enough
well so what
she only works in a record shop
she only works in a record shop
and i don't give a fuck what she says or she thinks about me

(Ballboy - Avant Garde Music)

naranjito (Koens), Sunday, 5 February 2006 09:38 (twenty years ago)

I am just a boy working in a record store
Yes I moved to San Francisco
Just to see what I could be
I am a loser geek
Crazy with an evil streak
Yes i do believe there is a
Violent thing inside of me

(Everclear - White Men in Black Suits)

-ray- (stefray), Sunday, 5 February 2006 12:36 (twenty years ago)

I used to work in a record store
Now I work for my dad
Scraping the paint off the hardwood floors
The hours are pretty bad

(Fountains of Wayne - Hackensack)

Norbert Pek (Norbert Pek), Sunday, 5 February 2006 14:37 (twenty years ago)

Uit 'Sell Out':

You're gonna go to the record store
You're gonna give 'em all your money
Radio plays what they want you to hear
They tell me it's cool but I just don't believe it

En Laughing With Lucifer At Satan's Sideshow van Snivlem:

You'll always have a home here to make whatever kind of records you want
We don't do special packaging for bands that haven't gone gold!
They rejected your video, so what do you want us to do?
You should consider yourself lucky, any other major label would've dropped you by now.
The people here in radio just don't like your band.
At least your records are in the stores.
Well we won't do a thing unless the single moves
He's in a meeting, can he call you right back?

*ahum*Maroon 5*ahum*

Hotel Lives (Hotel Lives), Sunday, 5 February 2006 17:12 (twenty years ago)

Rogier Verkroost.. (RogerV.), Monday, 6 February 2006 10:29 (twenty years ago)

I went down to the record store
To apply for a minimum wage

Martijn V (Martijn Vet), Monday, 6 February 2006 11:08 (twenty years ago)

Everclear - Summerland

ronnie b (ronnie b), Monday, 6 February 2006 11:21 (twenty years ago)

de hoes van 'Endtroducing' van DJ Shadow.

Anniejugend (jeroen), Monday, 6 February 2006 18:45 (twenty years ago)

De zeer grappige, titelloze extra track van 'There's nothing wrong with love' van Built to Spill.

Jugendlicher André (Andre Rozendaal), Monday, 6 February 2006 19:03 (twenty years ago)

Frank Black:

They tried to give me advice
down at the record shop
I said sit down boys
This may come as a shock
Cos all I listen to
It's all freedom rock

Jaap (Jaap), Monday, 6 February 2006 19:43 (twenty years ago)

Osdorp Posse - Censuur:

En natuurlijk Bow Wow Wow - C30 C60 C90 Go!

Robin Geurts (Hyperdog), Monday, 6 February 2006 22:50 (twenty years ago)

We went to a shopping mall
And laughed at all the shoppers
And security guards trailed us
To a record shop
We asked for Mojo Nixon
They said "He don't work here"
We said "If you don't got Mojo Nixon
Then your store could use some fixin'"

Punkock Girl van de Dead Mikmen

AlexB (MadHatter), Tuesday, 7 February 2006 09:43 (twenty years ago)

monique (monique), Tuesday, 7 February 2006 15:08 (twenty years ago)

...danwel muziekwinkels: Oblivians - "Guitar Shop Asshole".

Hiram (hiram), Tuesday, 7 February 2006 15:30 (twenty years ago)

monique (monique), Tuesday, 7 February 2006 15:54 (twenty years ago)

joost heijthuijsen (joosth), Tuesday, 7 February 2006 18:06 (twenty years ago)

monique (monique), Tuesday, 7 February 2006 18:43 (twenty years ago)

TV Personalities' "Part Time Punks" heeft het over de Rough Trade Shop. "Then they go to Rough Trade/ To buy Siouxsie
and the Banshees/ They heard John Peel play it/ Just the other night"

We go to London once a month/To Select-A-Disc in Soho/Buy Damaged Goods records from the Rough Trade shop/That's just off Portebello".

Martijn Grooten (martijng), Tuesday, 7 February 2006 21:48 (twenty years ago)

Nicolle B. effe vragen (-:

joost heijthuijsen (joosth), Tuesday, 7 February 2006 22:33 (twenty years ago)

The Freshies - "I’m In Love With The Girl On The Manchester Virgin Megastore Check Out Desk"

naranjito (Koens), Tuesday, 7 February 2006 23:04 (twenty years ago)

Van hetzelfde laken:

Lyle Lovett "Record Lady"

Robert Earl this friend of mine
You know he’s always looking after my best interest
He told me lyle p. you need to get some action
Get your head back in line
You need to get out on your own boy
This hanging around here’s got to stop
Get out on your own boy
And take a little trip to the record shop

I said the record shop
But Robert I don’t need no records
He just smiled and he said
What you need is a

Record lady
Record lady
She’s got the cutest little cartridge
That you’ve ever seen
She’s a phonographic dream

Hmm, 't is niet z'n meest subtiele werkstukje...

Hiram (hiram), Friday, 10 February 2006 17:14 (twenty years ago)

There's a guy works down the record shop swears he's Elvis.

Rens (Drupglid), Saturday, 11 February 2006 22:19 (twenty years ago)

The Freshies - I'm in Love With the Girl on a Certain Megastore Check-Out Desk

herman nijhuis (herman), Sunday, 12 February 2006 15:23 (twenty years ago)

Maar dan met 's in plaats van ['s en ]'s.

herman nijhuis (herman), Sunday, 12 February 2006 15:24 (twenty years ago)

I met you at the door
Of a record store
I knew you'd be mine
'Cause you looked so fine
I didn't think your love
Could-a hurt me so bad
But let me tell you now, baby
It's the best I had
Ohw!
(Blazerssectie valt in)
Your love is like
Torture, baby (falset koortje: Tortuuuuure)

Deze diepgravende poezië is van King Khan & His Shrines. "I knew you'd be mine / 'Cause you looked so fine": de logica is onontkoombaar.

Martijn ter Haar (wmterhaar), Sunday, 12 February 2006 18:34 (twenty years ago)
