Guys, my Nantucket Nectar bottlecap reads: "Harvesting cranberries replaces whaling as Nantucket's major industry in the 1920's."

Mr. Que, Monday, 19 November 2007 15:18 (eighteen years ago)

mine reads "lol ur gay for drinking nantucket nectars"

pretzel walrus, Monday, 19 November 2007 15:22 (eighteen years ago)

My Finnish immigrant ancestors were cranberry farmers in Massachusetts in the 1920's. Ocean Spray factory tour is AWESOME, back into the bog style.

pretzel walrus OTM.

"You can expect to start seeing fresh cranberries in the grocery store around mid-October. It is never too early to freeze some cranberries. I remember the holiday season of 1991 when I did not stock up on berries before Thanksgiving. Although the cranberry growers had one of the largest harvest of berries in recent history that year, most were not considered table quality and therefore were processed for juice and sauce. Many people had to go without cranberry dishes for Christmas because the grocery stores only received sufficient quantities of cranberries for Thanksgiving. Now I always call the Ocean Spray hotline (800-662-3263) to ask what the year’s harvest is like."

i have never liked cranberry sauce, am i commie y/n?

pretzel walrus, Monday, 19 November 2007 15:31 (eighteen years ago)

If you make proper cranberry sauce from scratch with some lemon zest and a simple syrup base it is excellent, no disputing it.

I DIED, Monday, 19 November 2007 15:32 (eighteen years ago)

but a good cranberry sauce is hard to find

I DIED, Monday, 19 November 2007 15:33 (eighteen years ago)

I DIED, Monday, 19 November 2007 15:33 (eighteen years ago)

i went to the ocean spray factory in plymouth ma third grade! then we saw plymouth rock. that's where the "first" thanksgiving was. then we moved to virginia in fifth grade. and everyone was like "LOL Jamestown was the first Thanksgiving in 1607, Masshole."

Mr. Que, Monday, 19 November 2007 15:41 (eighteen years ago)

yeah Jamestown has a 400-year chip on its shoulder. They would get to have the first thanksgiving but THEY DIED.
