Yeah I had a pair of black leather hi-tops. Loved them but they are gone now.

I got a new wardrobe from IKEA with the customizable sliding thingamajiggers and now I have room for 36 pairs of sneakers and affiliated nonsense. I do not have that many yet. And I need to give probably a couple of these pairs a good funeral soon.

i must admit that with the exception of the bottom left rack yr kicks are not to my taste (though i used to wear those yellow joints in 3rd grade) but i bow down to your shelving system

i just bought my first pair of converse in a looong while. my stan smiths were on their last leg and then got trashed walking around brooklyn on a massively rainy afternoon and i literally needed a new pair of shoes (and socks) right then so finally found a shop on n. 7th that sold these:

which are all leather/rubber and have a cork insole, which i've never seen before. they're less mod than i tend to go for these days but i have come to like their casualness (and fuck a canvas sneaker when you live in northern europe tbh)

i wear a lotta standard beat up low top canvas chucks. it's hard to rly explain why they suit my vibe altho currently they work with my hairdo in a paranoid vietnam vet style I SUPPOSE. chucks are v much another ils topic where you'll find me mumbling about not fucking with their essence man

one time i thought an outfit needed a little more menswear zhuzh so i switched the laces for string to create the illusion of wabi sabi artisanalism. pro tip

suede shoes are the worst

Suede is manageable if you are sad enough to buy suede protector and check the weather forecast before putting your shoes on every day.

Oh for sure, but like checking if it's likely to rain for even an hour while you're at work, to wear suede boots, it does feel extremely attentive.

I have suede shoes at work and wear tougher shoes on the journey in, it's genuinely no bother

obv wouldnt wear them in deepest winter filth and i'm not claiming i havent suffered too but suede is still a good deal hardier than ppl squeam

if they're that much of an attention outlier then tbh you've probably been neglecting your leather
