usually i'm creeped out by strangers touching me, but i would like to know some good places to get massage treatments in nyc/brooklyn. specifically i would like someone who will not tell me over and over again to "relaxxxxxx" or breathe heavily in my ear. THX

I went to Bliss on a gift certificate and had an amazing 75-minute massage. Very professional, a little awkward at first, but then I was so zoned out I forgot to feel awkward. I've had a lot of mediocre ho-hum massages so I think it's best to pay as much as you can afford and go for best. I really want to try the new Korean baths/spa in College Point Spa Castle: http://www.nyspacastle.com/eng/main/main.php

one month passes...

i am going to finally try a platza massage this weekend:

Platza Oak Leaf
Lie down while in the Russian Room and a platza specialist will scrub you (actually beat you) with a broom made of fresh oak leaves, sopping with olive oil soap. The oak leaves contain a natural astringent, which will open your pours, remove toxins, and actually take off layers of dead skin. Some described the platza as "Jewish acupuncture".

three years pass...

Did you ever try the platza? It is quite an experience.

Anyone know a good place in the East Village for tui na?
