Can you webmail me pictures or even links to online stores where they're sold, as well as what kind of price you're looking for?

I wouldn't normally do this kind of thing (baah ba ba bah), but it's ridiculously hard to find things to fit a v. skinny dude in the midwest, and I've got jobseeking/keeping stuff to do soon.

Grey V-Neck MARC JACOBS sweater with white suede elbow patches. (marc jacobs collection, not marc by marc)
Pink and Grey striped UNITED BAMBOO sweater - women's size 6 but fits Men's small. NEW WITH TAG

hmm, do you have pix of these? I'm sure most of the other things I like wouldn't fit properly, right? menswear I can get away with sweaters/tshirts but coats probably not.. though.. what does the green/gray APC look like? :)

speaking of which, I have some stuff.. I used to buy/resell clothes to make extra cash back in grad school, hung on to some of the better pieces when I moved. also some things bought in France that are now too big for me

* THEORY slate gray short-sleeve button down (size P = XS.. tag still on.. bought off eBay, seller put size S instead of XS)
* THEORY basic black knee length skirt, suiting fabric, size 8, perfect condition
* BCBG black + fuschia floral print wrap dress, really great looking & super easy to wear.. size S (it's pretty small, probably more like an XS or US size 2-4)
* MARC BY MARC JACOBS cotton empire waist top with all sorts of crazy patterns in green/pink/turquoise on dark navy. perfect. size 4
* CACHAREL burgundy long winter coat in wool, quite long and has a rather dramatic collar and cuffs. purchased at BHV in Paris I think. size 42/US 8-10
* vintage KENZO Jungle pleated navy miniskirt in kind of a lightweight rayon fabric (elastic waist, fairly short.. it's cool, not really a schoolgirl style)
* vintage YSL Rive Gauche royal blue silk blouse with tie at the neck. 70's I think, def. not 80's. size 38 prob US size 4. it's not perfect but pretty good condition. my shoulders are not going to get any smaller so it has to go
* vintage YSL Rive Gauche black wool dress with.. how to say.. yoke and cuffs in black velvet. about knee length, very simple cut (you know? how APC dresses all seem to be cut), not fitted. I think this is early 70's? size 42, prob modern US 6-8. perfect. hate to part with this but my frame is too large for this style to be flattering :(
* vintage YSL Rive Gauche black velvet pencil skirt. perfect. tiny. I think a vintage 36 or 38, prob modern US size 2-4.
* pair of very very deep burgundy tall boots w/a chunky heel, size 10 US. made in Spain, purchased somewhere in NYC late 90's. they're very good quality just a bit goth-y for my taste
* black leather MIU MIU purse, vintage style frame & snap closure on top, leather is kind of distressed and very very soft
* VALENTINO RED ivory wool v-neck sweater w/rose decoration, how to describe? it's like an actual rose knitted out of ivory wool on one side of the neckline. I think a size M though runs small. perfect
* COMPTOIR DES COTONNIERS beige lightweight trousers w/kind of a glittery sheen, size 42 FR, perfect, never worn. this is French label that makes v nice basics.. bought on sale @ Bon Marche, Paris
* COMPTOIR DES COTONNIERS simple black A-line skirt in soft cotton, size 42 FR.. from Bon Marche, Paris
* VIA SPIGA black platform wedge sandals, leather, size 10
* vintage CHARLES JOURDAN brown leather (mock.. lizard?) pumps, size 9.5 though run small, prob closer to a 9
* vintage CHARLES JOURDAN/CJBIS slides, not sure how to describe these.. black sole that's a bit pointy in the front, strap across the foot that is a wild multicolor paint-splatter design w/black buckle. these are pretty damn cool IMHO, I'd wear them in a minute if they fit. size 7.5 though seem to run a little big
* anyone as keen on spectators as me? white w/black patent toe & heel vintage ETIENNE AIGNER pumps, size 8, v good condition
* FRENCH CONNECTION cornflower blue 3/4 sleeve cotton blouse with fitted waist, size 6, runs small though
* pair of basic black Adidas Samba trainers, size 8.5 US / 8 UK /42 FR. Literally worn once. Wore out an old pair, bought new ones, walked around in them without realizing I needed a half size bigger. too lazy to return.

Long black very formal ARMANI dress, I think it's Emporio Armani though might be from the collection (def not Exchange!!!) size 10 or 12.. this one's in the back of my closet somewhere, I'll get it out & check all that if anyone interested.

also rather a lot more vintage but not going to go through everything right now :)

daria-g, Sunday, 10 August 2008 16:52 (seventeen years ago)

yo phil you got pictures or what

burt_stanton, Sunday, 10 August 2008 16:55 (seventeen years ago)

* COPAIN/COPINE jacket in navy, snaps up the front, neat round pockets, size M
* FACONNABLE black striped cotton blazer, size M
* near-mint, amazing vintage late 40's/early 50's black velvet jacket, 3/4 sleeve, button closure, fitted at the waist, rhinestone clasp in front and at each cuff, ivory silk lining. such a beautiful piece. tiny because the waist is so fitted, prob US size 2.

daria-g, Sunday, 10 August 2008 17:04 (seventeen years ago)

OK I don't think visual merchandising is in my future, but here are some poor quality photos

Pink and Grey Striped UNITED BAMBOO sweater. It says Size 6, but fits also like a men's small. 80% wool, 20% nylon, nice feel to it. NEW with tags, which has a price of 23,100 yen which is like $210usd. Yours for $75

Brown Helmut Lang jeans. Size 28. Bought in Paris in 2000. Button Fly. Probably like $200 new, yours for $50!

PENGUIN shirt. Retail like $50-$60, yours for $15!

phil-two, Sunday, 10 August 2008 18:18 (seventeen years ago)

size small

phil-two, Sunday, 10 August 2008 18:18 (seventeen years ago)

i do like that sweater. hmm. gonna run some errands and think about it.

daria-g, Sunday, 10 August 2008 18:37 (seventeen years ago)

Nick, well I tried taking pics of the black costume national pants and the black cloak shirt, but its hard to get black to come out right in photos. but if you want i'll try harder, but the pants retailed for like $300 and the shirt for probably like $300-$400.. very nice materials, the cloak shirt has especially nice fabric and is really really fantastic am bummed i cant fit into it anymore. but will still be over $100 second-hand. the designer shuttered cloak and is now menswear designer/consultant for versace, which is odd since not really same style... but let me know if you're still interested in those.

phil-two, Sunday, 10 August 2008 18:39 (seventeen years ago)

daria, where do you live? my friend does a monthly vintage sale at the Tribeca Grand Hotel here in NYC, with like DJs and drinks. I haven't been, but I think a few people get together and do it. A lot of it is vintage french labels, and such. If youre in NYC area maybe you should get in on it one month!

phil-two, Sunday, 10 August 2008 18:41 (seventeen years ago)

I'm in DC.. it sounds fab.. i have odd taste in vintage, though, have rarely/never found anything in a proper vintage shop that suited me, but just going through stuff w/DJs and drinks around, that sounds like a treat :)

honestly if I could make a career of just buying and selling vintage.. but not being able to count on a steady income stresses me too much. might go back to doing that as a side job as soon as I get a digital camera that doesn't suck.

daria-g, Sunday, 10 August 2008 18:57 (seventeen years ago)

i meant get in on selling stuff there

phil-two, Sunday, 10 August 2008 19:04 (seventeen years ago)

If any of you dudes are skinny (chest size 36-37 inches), I have a bunch of vintage dress and plaid shirts I don't fit into anymore.

burt_stanton, Sunday, 10 August 2008 19:15 (seventeen years ago)

also, nick, the pants were hemmed to it me and I'm 5'9"...... so keep that in mind. The French Connection pants photo not coming out so well because of lighting. but they're slate grey, 75% polyester 25% rayon, they're slim fitting, a bit stretchy nice feeling, slightly pleated. size 28, but i can still squeeze into them and i wear more 29/30 now. they'd be nice for work. Originally i'd guess $90 or so, you can have for $20!

Burt_Stanton: anything in specific you want a photo of?

phil-two, Sunday, 10 August 2008 19:24 (seventeen years ago)

Nah, I'm good

burt_stanton, Sunday, 10 August 2008 19:27 (seventeen years ago)

TROVATA shirt (winner of CFDA / Vogue fashion award!). Size medium, but still fits me. NEW, well actually its a sales sample from the UK market, but never worn.. I'd say it retails for $175 (a bit overpriced, yes). You can have it at the low low price of $45

phil-two, Sunday, 10 August 2008 19:28 (seventeen years ago)

Daria -im interested in a bunch of your stuff, spec the three ysl pieces. What size is the kenzo pleated skirt?

bell_labs, Sunday, 10 August 2008 20:41 (seventeen years ago)

Ihave the following things that need to go:
-Black theory dress size 2, small straps and very fitted bodice with pleated skirt. I have never worn it and the tag might even be on
-mocha colored j crew pantsuit size 2

Probably more stuff but I have to check my closet

bell_labs, Sunday, 10 August 2008 20:45 (seventeen years ago)

-White stretchy cotton burberry skirt, us size 4 (makes my ass look indecent)
-size 4 tahari pinstripe pants suit that I would give away for free

I like the topshop cardigan! Would it be too big on a girl

bell_labs, Sunday, 10 August 2008 21:16 (seventeen years ago)

oh, hm, i dunno really how clothes translate from guys to girls. it's slim fitting on me. i'm 5'9" and like 140-145 pounds. dunno what boobs do to the equation either

phil-two, Sunday, 10 August 2008 21:19 (seventeen years ago)

it says 35-38" chest on the tag. right below "KEEP AWAY FROM FIRE"

phil-two, Sunday, 10 August 2008 21:20 (seventeen years ago)

bell i think the v neck would allow a girl to wear it w/out too many problems. it may even be too big for you w/ that sizing. it is really cute though!

tehresa, Sunday, 10 August 2008 21:22 (seventeen years ago)

I think it would be a little too big but I can always pawn it off on ian if it is.I love stripey cardigans.

bell_labs, Sunday, 10 August 2008 21:31 (seventeen years ago)

oh ok well lemme know. youre in nyc? i live off the montrose stop if you live around here....

phil-two, Sunday, 10 August 2008 21:39 (seventeen years ago)

I live in crown heights but I'm.in williamsburg frequently enough. Lemme know when would be a good time! I wouldn't mind looking at the other stuff you have for.purposes of dressing my boyfriend in something other than tshirts

bell_labs, Sunday, 10 August 2008 22:00 (seventeen years ago)

oh ok! well im going out of town for 2 weeks on wednesday afternoon. i work from home so im here a lot. i guess just text me if youre in the area between now and then? graham/montrose is where i live. i guess click on my name to email me and i'll give u my #?

phil-two, Sunday, 10 August 2008 22:19 (seventeen years ago)

Ok ill webmail you tomorrow when I have a better idea of my schedule!

bell_labs, Sunday, 10 August 2008 22:35 (seventeen years ago)

sorry, been out. Kenzo skirt tagged a M. basically has an elastic waist and is otherwise not fitted. I'd say it's best fit on a 26-27" waist

daria-g, Monday, 11 August 2008 00:25 (seventeen years ago)

i'll take some pix of this stuff probably tomorrow when i'm less tired

daria-g, Monday, 11 August 2008 00:27 (seventeen years ago)

daria - if you could do pictures, i'm interested in seeing these ones:

* MARC BY MARC JACOBS cotton empire waist top with all sorts of crazy patterns in green/pink/turquoise on dark navy. perfect. size 4

I think this is early 70's? size 42, prob modern US 6-8. perfect. hate to part with this but my frame is too large for this style to be flattering :(
* COPAIN/COPINE jacket in navy, snaps up the front, neat round pockets, size M
* FACONNABLE black striped cotton blazer, size M

bell_labs, Monday, 11 August 2008 13:57 (seventeen years ago)

DEAR PHIL: anzevino&florence hoodie. size small. $35 = want.

(Is it just lighter/thinner than it looks? Cause it almost scans as more jackety than hoodie.)

nabisco, Monday, 11 August 2008 14:50 (seventeen years ago)

oh yeah it guess it looks coat'ish there, but its lighter than it looks there. it's cotton. it's fairly slim fitting so i wouldn't wear it over much more than a t-shirt. but you could def wear just that for fall. lemme know!

phil-two, Monday, 11 August 2008 16:45 (seventeen years ago)

phil - i webmaild u

bell_labs, Monday, 11 August 2008 16:46 (seventeen years ago)

oh yeah sorry i just woke up. hehe i write back now

phil-two, Monday, 11 August 2008 16:56 (seventeen years ago)

bell i might be interested in the pantsuit. what does the jacket look like?

La Lechera, Monday, 11 August 2008 16:59 (seventeen years ago)

the j. crew one or the tahari?

the j.crew suit is jacket is tan/mocha colored and has 2 buttons (i can take pictures of this stuff later...) the tahari one is double-breasted and very boxy. the tahari one still fits me, but it's just super boxy and unflattering on my frame, which is why i've been trying to give it away.

bell_labs, Monday, 11 August 2008 17:09 (seventeen years ago)

yeah, the tahari one doesn't sound like it would be flattering on me either. in additional bad news, i'm not sure tan is my color. :(

i'm usually the person who takes whatever people are giving away, but lately i am trying to not do this, as i have piles of clothes i have accepted but not worn just lying around the bedroom. it looks like someone blasted my room with a gun that sprays clothes.

La Lechera, Monday, 11 August 2008 17:15 (seventeen years ago)

haha nobody will ever take that tahari suit. i have tried to pawn it off on so many people!

it is currently in my goodwill pile.

bell_labs, Monday, 11 August 2008 17:16 (seventeen years ago)

I live for boxy but there's not a snowflake's chance in hell of my fitting into a size 4.

Laurel, Monday, 11 August 2008 17:19 (seventeen years ago)

bell_labs, I bought a new digital camera & it's going to show up toward the end of the week.. gonna take pix then, plus it'll give me a chance to pull things from storage in the back of my closet..

black is so hard to photograph. are these for you? i can say, the faconnable jacket and copain/copine jacket are going to be too big if you wear a 4 - i wear a 4/6 in tops and they're rather too big on me, probably fit an 8 quite well. the cop/copine might be cool anyhow if you like oversized.

daria-g, Monday, 11 August 2008 19:06 (seventeen years ago)

yeah i wear a 4, and am pretty small on top...probably more of a 2-4 top and a 4-6 on the bottom, so it sounds like those tops would be too big. i'm very interested in the ysl size 4 top though!

bell_labs, Monday, 11 August 2008 19:13 (seventeen years ago)

oh, daria, did you want the united bamboo sweater?

phil-two, Monday, 11 August 2008 19:14 (seventeen years ago)

daria, are you very tall and/or long-armed? I mostly wear an 8 on top but am short-ish in the torso and the arm. Usu wear a petite but I would try a jacket maybe.

Laurel, Monday, 11 August 2008 19:19 (seventeen years ago)

i am soooo super curious about the ysl wool dress, which i think might be too big for me but i still want to see a picture!

bell_labs, Monday, 11 August 2008 19:23 (seventeen years ago)

i'm 5'9" & generally wear tall sizes.. don't recall if those jackets are too short in the sleeves for me, I think at least the cop/copine one is. personally i wear 3/4 sleeve jackets a lot because that way i don't ahve to worry about it

phil.. about the sweater, yes, what the hell. i like it, i'll buy it, unless someone else already claimed. $75, that's cool. i like the stripes. send me an email plz.. :)

daria-g, Monday, 11 August 2008 19:43 (seventeen years ago)

awesome. finally ilx has proved useful for something other than time-sink!

phil-two, Monday, 11 August 2008 19:56 (seventeen years ago)

ok just emailed the email you have in your profile

phil-two, Monday, 11 August 2008 20:00 (seventeen years ago)

thanks. I'll paypal you the $. I replied but gmail seems to be hosed right now so maybe the message didn't go through!

daria-g, Monday, 11 August 2008 21:13 (seventeen years ago)

* vintage YSL Rive Gauche black wool dress with.. how to say.. yoke and cuffs in black velvet. about knee length, very simple cut (you know? how APC dresses all seem to be cut), not fitted. I think this is early 70's? size 42, prob modern US 6-8. perfect. hate to part with this but my frame is too large for this style to be flattering :(

WILL SWAP FOR SLIGHTLY LARGER RED WOOL VALENTINO DRESS.

suzy, Friday, 15 August 2008 16:41 (seventeen years ago)

ah.. sorry I'm afraid, as far as swaps, a larger dress would be no good for me - the YSL dress itself is actually too big, and in any case has the unfortunate effect of making me look huge because of the cut..! anything else you might want to part with? :) I am usually a size 6..

daria-g, Friday, 15 August 2008 20:42 (seventeen years ago)

promise I'll take some pix this weekend yall, I just got a new digital camera that doesn't suck
