Eric H., Saturday, 23 August 2008 02:46 (seventeen years ago)

Surmounter, Saturday, 23 August 2008 02:47 (seventeen years ago)

strgn, Saturday, 23 August 2008 02:48 (seventeen years ago)

Surmounter, Saturday, 23 August 2008 02:49 (seventeen years ago)

where are you going?

Surmounter, Saturday, 23 August 2008 02:52 (seventeen years ago)

not sure about the hat. i have to work up the nerve.

x-post a local levi/leather bar. the night is hosted by a local leather coalition and is called "avatar games." i really have no idea what to expect.

strgn, Saturday, 23 August 2008 02:54 (seventeen years ago)

This thread. Needs. Pixxxxxxx

bell_labs, Saturday, 23 August 2008 02:55 (seventeen years ago)

if someone convinces dr. morbius to scan his stand-up glossies, i will post a picture of myself in leather.

strgn, Saturday, 23 August 2008 02:57 (seventeen years ago)

If Morbs scans his stand up, I will post a pic of myself in strgn.

Eric H., Saturday, 23 August 2008 03:00 (seventeen years ago)

that pic is special!

strgn, Saturday, 23 August 2008 03:04 (seventeen years ago)

strgn, Saturday, 23 August 2008 03:10 (seventeen years ago)

my digital camera is broken ;_;

strgn, Saturday, 23 August 2008 03:10 (seventeen years ago)

that outfit doesn't look super-gay to me. it's very tasteful and a little dark. i love it.

strgn, Saturday, 23 August 2008 03:11 (seventeen years ago)

ok this is not at all what i imagined from description! you look good!

tehresa, Saturday, 23 August 2008 03:12 (seventeen years ago)

whew good :) guys i'm not always the most daring person

Surmounter, Saturday, 23 August 2008 03:12 (seventeen years ago)

Yeah looking hot! I was picturing a little striped belly shirt

bell_labs, Saturday, 23 August 2008 03:13 (seventeen years ago)

lol me too!

tehresa, Saturday, 23 August 2008 03:15 (seventeen years ago)

me too and I was a little concerned.

ENBB, Saturday, 23 August 2008 03:15 (seventeen years ago)

haha ok in the house maybe

Surmounter, Saturday, 23 August 2008 03:15 (seventeen years ago)

lol <3 thx for the support i'm taking this on the train!

Surmounter, Saturday, 23 August 2008 03:16 (seventeen years ago)

i also imagined like swishy grey pants and a much wider belt.

tehresa, Saturday, 23 August 2008 03:18 (seventeen years ago)

You are planning on going out in this outfit, right?

Eric H., Saturday, 23 August 2008 03:48 (seventeen years ago)

was wearing today
smokey grey cotton/silk top
black wash jbrand jeans ('the doll' style i think, bit of a flare @ bottom)
pointy faux snakeskin shoes w/low heel
black/white print silk scarf

currently wearing vneck american apparel tshirt instead, in sort of a dark-blue/peach stonewash color. i like it better inside out because more blue than pink. i don't think i'm going out though. so tired..

daria-g, Saturday, 23 August 2008 03:51 (seventeen years ago)

surmounter you look stylin

daria-g, Saturday, 23 August 2008 03:51 (seventeen years ago)

I've changed clothes something like four times today, but nothing I was wearing was really all that gay. Just the fact that I changed clothes four times.

Eric H., Saturday, 23 August 2008 04:00 (seventeen years ago)

ramzi you look like conor oberst in that picture

J0rdan S., Saturday, 23 August 2008 04:11 (seventeen years ago)

love it surmounter! you're adorable

Finefinemusic, Saturday, 23 August 2008 17:00 (seventeen years ago)

That's not partic gay at all, Surm. Lookin' good, in fact.

libcrypt, Saturday, 23 August 2008 18:23 (seventeen years ago)

I didn't mean to imply that the two are mutually exclusive, tho.

libcrypt, Saturday, 23 August 2008 18:25 (seventeen years ago)

:D

i carried an oversized brown pleather bag, it was good

Surmounter, Sunday, 24 August 2008 00:17 (seventeen years ago)

please tell me i can wear a headband out?

Surmounter, Sunday, 24 August 2008 00:28 (seventeen years ago)

the brown bag:
http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g192/rrawn/306719428_1043970140_0.jpg

boyfriend doesn't quite like it, but i'm smitten

Surmounter, Sunday, 24 August 2008 01:59 (seventeen years ago)

very european, but it works on you

J0rdan S., Sunday, 24 August 2008 02:01 (seventeen years ago)

and then there's this choker which the boys have seen, but i haven't actually worn it anywhere but the beach yet:

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g192/rrawn/Photo33.jpg

i wish i could just take a cab!

Surmounter, Sunday, 24 August 2008 02:16 (seventeen years ago)

You get away with it which is the ultimate accolade wrt clothes

I know, right?, Sunday, 24 August 2008 02:26 (seventeen years ago)

i think there is nothing wrong w/ the bag except that it is maybe better for going to work than out to a club?

i have weird feelings about the choker.

tehresa, Sunday, 24 August 2008 08:07 (seventeen years ago)

black three quarter sleeve shirt with bats on the front, and one glow in the dark bat. tight grayish jeans, mid-top shiny black basketball pumps by shaquille o'neal. my parents are visiting i don't know how much they're gonna love it.

Surmounter, Friday, 29 August 2008 22:39 (seventeen years ago)

I am wearing big baggy pleated trousers & a loose oxford, sneaks and no makeup...which is either gay or Patti Smith.

Abbott, Saturday, 30 August 2008 04:51 (seventeen years ago)

I guess 8-eye Doc Martens wld make it the gay.

Abbott, Saturday, 30 August 2008 04:51 (seventeen years ago)

Or...cargo shorts.

Abbott, Saturday, 30 August 2008 04:52 (seventeen years ago)

three weeks pass...

shorts y/n?

weather is good....

I know, right?, Thursday, 25 September 2008 12:21 (seventeen years ago)

Oof. No. Are you wearing those socks? Maybe I have no vision for this style.

My fashion risk today: wearing skinny jeans OUTSIDE of my boots, like all scrunched up around the rings. I...think it's working? The important thing is that my legs not look like denim sausages, which I don't think they do.

Also it may be the only way to wear these jeans, which are abt 6" too long for me.

Vampire romances depend on me (Laurel), Thursday, 25 September 2008 14:43 (seventeen years ago)

I keep seeing people (possibly just the same 3 or 4, idk) wearing extra long jeans with the bottoms folded straight back up the legs, like 6-8" tall raw fabric cuffs. I'm reminded of flowerpots, somehow. Maybe this is a new thing to do with bootcuts?

Jaq, Thursday, 25 September 2008 14:50 (seventeen years ago)

Wellllllll...I usu cuff around 4-5" if I do it at all...but I haf zee short legs! I think the girls who buy bootcuts often get them long enough to come to the ground even when they're wearing heels...an extra 3" or so? Which when they're not wearing heels, has to be cuffed up.

Other than that, no idea!

Vampire romances depend on me (Laurel), Thursday, 25 September 2008 14:52 (seventeen years ago)

Sometimes they are folded up to capri length. Since this is Seattle, I'm assuming it's not cutting edge or anything; it seemed to spring out of the blue, but it's very likely I'm just now noticing it.

Jaq, Thursday, 25 September 2008 15:06 (seventeen years ago)

Yes, I cuff to capri length, too. I dunno, it's just...a style? Not bootcuts, just straight legs, but it's probably as bad.

Another female ILXor and I showed up at a party last Fri both wearing cycle boots and jeans cuffed up above the ankle. I felt v sheepish about it, somehow.

Vampire romances depend on me (Laurel), Thursday, 25 September 2008 15:14 (seventeen years ago)

So is it just the socks causing the problem or is it just a wholly bad idea?

I know, right?, Thursday, 25 September 2008 15:18 (seventeen years ago)

I really only wear socks when it's cold and they're knee-high.

Unless I plan to always wear jeans with heels, I re-hem them. I'm also short.

Today, cotton skirt with black and brown chevron print, brown heels, black three-quarter sleeve knit top. Boring but I have a board meeting to go to later.

Peanuts taste like peanut butter (Susan), Friday, 26 September 2008 14:17 (seventeen years ago)

i did NOT just spill coffee on my shirt 2 sec before running out the door. @*#$UTLSKDFJ

highly theoretical, of course. (tehresa), Friday, 26 September 2008 14:18 (seventeen years ago)

oh no!!

Surmounter, Friday, 26 September 2008 14:19 (seventeen years ago)

it is a dry clean only one too!!!!

highly theoretical, of course. (tehresa), Friday, 26 September 2008 14:21 (seventeen years ago)

i guess it's something brooklyn boys are doing now? i think it's kind of nasty. i mean, i love how it looks but it feels gross.

guys if you want to really go for gay but also for logic, just wear some sockette things or whatever they're called

terminator boyfriend (rrrobyn), Friday, 26 September 2008 17:32 (seventeen years ago)

Suggestion for male pseudo-socklessness: buy little cotton ankle-length socks at the drugstore, grab a pair of scissors, snip off the ankle part. Not that you'll remember that for the nine months it'll take for it to be warm enough for this to matter, but if you're wearing anything that covers your foot -- i.e., not loafers or deck shoes or whatever -- this actually feels better than just wearing socks.

nabisco, Friday, 26 September 2008 19:34 (seventeen years ago)

bachelor-style diy socklettes

terminator boyfriend (rrrobyn), Friday, 26 September 2008 20:04 (seventeen years ago)

i don't know where those fall on the gay index

terminator boyfriend (rrrobyn), Friday, 26 September 2008 20:05 (seventeen years ago)

They fall on the PUNK side

nabisco, Friday, 26 September 2008 23:19 (seventeen years ago)

NOTHING is more punk than dutifully buying ankle-socks at the drugstore and then daintily snipping off the ankles so that your feet are nice and comfy but you still feel like you look stylish

That kind of mild vanity and mundane planning is the ESSENCE of punk

nabisco, Friday, 26 September 2008 23:20 (seventeen years ago)

Jordan, you are very catty lately!

I know, right?, Saturday, 27 September 2008 00:28 (seventeen years ago)

But yeah, thanks you guys, you all look wonderful!

I know, right?, Saturday, 27 September 2008 00:56 (seventeen years ago)

i am wearing a dark denim jumper dress which includes suspenders. also: purple tights. definitely risky.

highly theoretical, of course. (tehresa), Thursday, 2 October 2008 13:52 (seventeen years ago)

I am wearing a cocktail dress with a bodice that leaves very little to the imagination and no bra, because there's nowhere to hide it. Going to have to keep jacket buttoned to the chin all day, I can tell already....

Vampire romances depend on me (Laurel), Thursday, 2 October 2008 14:17 (seventeen years ago)

i salute both of you.

Surmounter, Thursday, 2 October 2008 15:51 (seventeen years ago)

I have a big fancy work 'do tonight so the cocktail attire is somewhat justified. Am feeling very shelf-of-bosom, though.

Vampire romances depend on me (Laurel), Thursday, 2 October 2008 15:54 (seventeen years ago)

i'm wearing a minidress/jumper.

lauren, Thursday, 2 October 2008 16:00 (seventeen years ago)

this one is always much mini-er than i remember it being. the first time i catch a glimpse of myself in a window or something, it's a bit of a shock.

lauren, Thursday, 2 October 2008 16:02 (seventeen years ago)

Yeah I should really invest in a full length mirror if I'm going to insist on leaving the house like this!

highly theoretical, of course. (tehresa), Thursday, 2 October 2008 16:32 (seventeen years ago)

I am justifying this look by reminding myself that the dress was $9.99 on sale!

highly theoretical, of course. (tehresa), Thursday, 2 October 2008 16:34 (seventeen years ago)

I am wearing a sweatshirt, very baggy trousers, and wingtips, which is ... I dunno. Comfy, though.

nabisco, Thursday, 2 October 2008 17:52 (seventeen years ago)

cute!

Surmounter, Thursday, 2 October 2008 17:55 (seventeen years ago)

i'm into anything sweats these days.

Surmounter, Thursday, 2 October 2008 17:56 (seventeen years ago)

note: denim is v thin and when walking into wind makes weirdness!!!

highly theoretical, of course. (tehresa), Friday, 3 October 2008 06:58 (seventeen years ago)

I collected my A-level results in a wide-brimmed black hat, black clothes and a pair of mirror sunglasses. What. A. Twat.

GamalielRatsey, Friday, 3 October 2008 15:26 (seventeen years ago)

sounds fun to me!

i look kind of gay today but in a fun way (i think)

Surmounter, Friday, 3 October 2008 17:39 (seventeen years ago)

yes, there are days when i don't look gay.

Surmounter, Friday, 3 October 2008 17:44 (seventeen years ago)

i looked better than i felt last night: black jeans, black sneakers, turquoise t-shirt, maroon sweat-material zip-up vest, the gold link belt and turquoise eyeliner. and bracelets of course.

Surmounter, Saturday, 4 October 2008 18:42 (seventeen years ago)

of course.

highly theoretical, of course. (tehresa), Saturday, 4 October 2008 23:43 (seventeen years ago)

turqouise eyeliner was probably a little much

a passion for posting (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 4 October 2008 23:52 (seventeen years ago)

turquoise eyeliner was redeemed for me when hilary duff (not a fan, but she's a pretty girl) was on the cover of Blender a few years ago - pink shadow on top and turquoise eyeliner on bottom rim - http://hilaryduffpix.net/wp-content/uploads/2007/10/hilary_duff_blender_2004_05.jpg (it was much prettier on the glossier magazine)

Finefinemusic, Sunday, 5 October 2008 00:16 (seventeen years ago)

I live in Miami. Theoretically I'm allowed to wear shorts anytime, but I have a before seven o'clock rule.

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn, Sunday, 5 October 2008 00:23 (seventeen years ago)

Don't be so serious.

I know, right?, Sunday, 5 October 2008 00:29 (seventeen years ago)

Shorts are a serious affair; so are the thighs required to exhibit them.

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn, Sunday, 5 October 2008 00:29 (seventeen years ago)

I say this, I refuse to wear anything that an elderly librarian wouldn't so...

I know, right?, Sunday, 5 October 2008 00:32 (seventeen years ago)

another risky dress: deep v wool jumper thingy w/ black longsleeve shirt under and black tights. i kind of wish i had one of those gossip girl headbands right now.

highly theoretical, of course. (tehresa), Tuesday, 7 October 2008 14:00 (seventeen years ago)

sounds sooo cute

Surmounter, Tuesday, 7 October 2008 14:01 (seventeen years ago)

i feel like the skirt is a little too poofy and is making me rounnnndddd(er). there are a few pleats involved: v v risky for me!

highly theoretical, of course. (tehresa), Tuesday, 7 October 2008 14:03 (seventeen years ago)

i am wearing beat up levis & a men's grey wool button up sweater vest & clunky 90's oxford shoes.. with this really nice isabel marant blouse that was sort of a big splurge but i love it.. uh.. i sort of look sloppy but felt guilty about wearing a really nice blouse that for once didn't come from a thrift store!

claudia schefter (daria-g), Tuesday, 7 October 2008 14:22 (seventeen years ago)

dress sounds nice, tza, not risky at all.

lauren, Tuesday, 7 October 2008 14:59 (seventeen years ago)

black belted trench coat. got what i hope were approving looks on the train this morning.

******* (Lamp), Wednesday, 8 October 2008 19:06 (seventeen years ago)

Does this look OK? The sweater was a mock turtleneck, but I cut the mock off to wear collared shirts with it.

http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j251/mzing12/noname.jpg

burt_stanton, Wednesday, 8 October 2008 21:01 (seventeen years ago)

cute. kind of 90s junior high? in a good preppy way

Surmounter, Wednesday, 8 October 2008 21:07 (seventeen years ago)

yeah, I was thinking the sweater was pretty 90s ... it was from Uniqlo when they first started unloading all the early 90s crap.

burt_stanton, Wednesday, 8 October 2008 21:08 (seventeen years ago)

i'm pretty sure i'm dressed like purple rain era prince today. please confirm/refute:

black shoes with wee cuban heels
slim-cut tapered grey jeans
offwhite lacey blouse with bow at neck
black velvet blazer with purple lining

at first i was thinking beethoven, but then after more thought i realized no. i look like prince.

La Lechera, Tuesday, 14 October 2008 19:09 (seventeen years ago)

affirmative. a crossover between beethoven and prince is pretty much a guaranteed success in my book.

Surmounter, Tuesday, 14 October 2008 19:13 (seventeen years ago)

yeah, i'm totally unrepentant about the forthright gayness of this outfit.
when i was a teen this is pretty much exactly the outfit i wanted to be wearing to work as a grownup and ta-da.

the lining of the jacket is seriously the most beautiful purple i've ever seen.

La Lechera, Tuesday, 14 October 2008 19:27 (seventeen years ago)
