orange pantsuit c/d

max, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 13:28 (seventeen years ago)

i thought she shoulda gone with one of the blues

gabbneb, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 14:16 (seventeen years ago)

yeah the orange pantsuit made me a little sad. Chelsea looked HOT though and just so perfect "my Mom, my hero.." in her curly pretty blondeness.

Finefinemusic, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 16:13 (seventeen years ago)

I thought the orange worked well with the obama blue background. Probably not as much with any other background, and she probably would have looked like a walking creamsickle, but okay in that instance.

kingfish, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 17:09 (seventeen years ago)

there is no set of circumstances in which "orange pantsuit" is not a dud
except for perhaps when the alien conquerors demand "only those attired in orange pantsuits will be allowed to live" and even then it's still a dud for the future of the species

El Tomboto, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 17:12 (seventeen years ago)

was she going for broncos colors or what?

max, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 17:15 (seventeen years ago)

thats the only explanation i can come up with, unless its some kind of insidious way to distance herself from the obama blue

max, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 17:16 (seventeen years ago)

that pantsuit is gorgeous

Surmounter, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 17:20 (seventeen years ago)

i mean, for a pantsuit

Surmounter, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 17:22 (seventeen years ago)

I wanna reitirate on this thread that the original reason I decided to get in the tank for Barack was because (I think in the NY'er profile?) some journalist said he might do for ties what Kennedy did for hats

El Tomboto, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 17:25 (seventeen years ago)

ahmedinejad did it first

max, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 17:26 (seventeen years ago)

it's not the same with a beard, then you just look like a therapist

El Tomboto, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 17:28 (seventeen years ago)

remy bean, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 17:34 (seventeen years ago)

maybe hill feels she has to dress her age or something

Surmounter, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 17:40 (seventeen years ago)

i don't understand why it all has to be the same color

i really liked the brown w/ turquoise jewelry she had at one of the debates

elmo argonaut, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 18:46 (seventeen years ago)

i think she dresses better and more in-character now than she did during her early days as first lady

haha american apparel shades

max, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 18:53 (seventeen years ago)

shutup if you tell me that outfit isn't amazing there's something wrong in your head

Surmounter, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 18:56 (seventeen years ago)

Yes, my mother and her peers wore boiled wool jackets with long skirts all through that era. So? That doesn't make it a good idea.

Laurel, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 18:57 (seventeen years ago)

"amazing" can be taken a few different ways

El Tomboto, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 18:57 (seventeen years ago)

i am sorry ramz, i used to live in a building with inside hallways painted those exact colors and it made me frequently nauseous.

remy bean, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 18:58 (seventeen years ago)

i want those glasses bad

Surmounter, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 18:58 (seventeen years ago)

how bout that cindy mccain? what is she lookin like lately?

Surmounter, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 19:01 (seventeen years ago)

she reminds me of the crypt-keeper.

lauren, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 19:04 (seventeen years ago)

YES. or sometimes when she's standing on stage i swear i get flashbacks of carrie at the prom

Surmounter, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 19:04 (seventeen years ago)

i mean she needs better makeup, really. whatever she's doing is not helping her pasty white complexion

Surmounter, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 19:05 (seventeen years ago)

it's the demonic/crazy eyes.

lauren, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 19:07 (seventeen years ago)

she has an amazing neck that makes we want to throw up

deeznuts, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 19:10 (seventeen years ago)

I like Hillary's style! She reminds me of my late grandmother.

was I the only one who the Obama girls made think of that early-season Project Runway designer?

gabbneb, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 20:07 (seventeen years ago)

Who else things Chelsea had some work done on the old schnoz?

quincie, Thursday, 28 August 2008 00:04 (seventeen years ago)

I didn't notice, but her smile was frozen on during her dad's speech. Speaking of, who makes the dress she was wearing tonight?

Virginia Plain, Thursday, 28 August 2008 02:17 (seventeen years ago)

oh, no, election stuff on my beloved style board? i already have to put in 40+ hours a week being a good team player

daria-g, Thursday, 28 August 2008 06:03 (seventeen years ago)

Cindy McCain reminds me of Lisa Marie's character in Mars Attacks.

deej, Sunday, 31 August 2008 02:03 (seventeen years ago)

Not sure about Cindy McCain's dress. Actually, not sure about Cindy McCain.

quincie, Tuesday, 2 September 2008 12:24 (seventeen years ago)

there is some staggeringly bad dressing backstage here at the RNC, there is this one republican lady working here who has this selection of awful zip up skirt suits, that seem to be made our of swetshirts, terry cloth and reject 70s carpet.

Ed, Tuesday, 2 September 2008 17:01 (seventeen years ago)

sounds hot

Surmounter, Tuesday, 2 September 2008 17:11 (seventeen years ago)

you are backstage at the RNC? sounds like a treat.
i noticed delegations in the crowd yesterday with coordinated outfits.

call me crazy, but i don't think that long, bleach-blond, 80s mall-girl hair is the best look for a 60-yr old.

lauren, Saturday, 27 September 2008 16:19 (seventeen years ago)

first lady barbie!

highly theoretical, of course. (tehresa), Saturday, 27 September 2008 16:21 (seventeen years ago)

i can't find a pic of michelle's dress, which i loved. i generally find her style too conservative for my taste, though she's always so well put together, but the debate dress was great!

lauren, Saturday, 27 September 2008 16:39 (seventeen years ago)

yeah i liked the mall hair :) and michelle's dress was stunning!

Surmounter, Saturday, 27 September 2008 16:40 (seventeen years ago)

i really liked this crazy ruffly sleeveless blouse michelle had on in puerto rico. also she wears this alaia belt quite often - A++

cindy looks good to me, i rather like the monochrome outfits in loud colors

mostly i am depressed to see entertainment news bulletins & magazine features on the battles of the women's personal style, yet again, while imho the best candidate is the woman who the super d's passed over

regular guy, scranton, pennsylvania (daria-g), Saturday, 27 September 2008 16:45 (seventeen years ago)

michelle's dress last night reminded me of a tamed down kenley creation

highly theoretical, of course. (tehresa), Saturday, 27 September 2008 16:48 (seventeen years ago)

yeah that pattern was bananas

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Sunday, 28 September 2008 19:47 (seventeen years ago)

i can def see kenley in that dress

Surmounter, Sunday, 28 September 2008 19:52 (seventeen years ago)

mostly i am depressed to see entertainment news bulletins & magazine features on the battles of the women's personal style, yet again

yeah, they should talk more about which guy's tie was more Presidential

gabbneb, Sunday, 28 September 2008 20:06 (seventeen years ago)

that particular discussion is making no sense to me. john mccain was wearing a candy cane on his neck, why is that more presidential?

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Sunday, 28 September 2008 20:07 (seventeen years ago)

candy cane = Christmas = Barack Obama is a muslim

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/29/us/politics/29whitehouse.html?_r=1&hp

Over the weekend, Mr. Obama’s first in office, his aides did not quite know how to dress. Some showed up in jeans (another no-no under Mr. Bush), some in coats and ties.

So the president issued an informal edict for “business casual” on weekends — and set his own example. He showed up Saturday for a briefing with his chief economic adviser, Lawrence H. Summers, dressed in slacks and a gray sweater over a white buttoned-down shirt. Veterans of the Bush White House are shocked.

max, Thursday, 29 January 2009 14:20 (seventeen years ago)

slacks/sweater/button-down is a pretty decent look for biz cazh IMO

as long as it doesn't degenerate to polos & khakis I'm cool

obi don quixote (elmo argonaut), Thursday, 29 January 2009 14:27 (seventeen years ago)

slacks sweater buttondown is my go to work outfit
