There is an old man scientist where I work who wears short shorts and flip flops to work all summer long. It's really disturbing.

For short shorts to truly qualify as "short", they must be

1. short,
2. ass-defining

The best part of short shorts is the song, tho.

This guy's are def short but I've not scrutinized his rear intensely enough to determine whether or not they're ass-defining.

My problem with the first SJP one isn't the short shorts + heels + tube top. If you can commit to the ho'-ness, that is a good look.

It's the wimping out with the coat, the cap and the bizarre visual movie cliches. A loaf of crusty bread and leafy lettuce, really?

I am wearing these medium-short shorts. They look a lot better if you wear a shirt and aren't gross.

If I wore those it'd look like my body was being held up by two thin slabs of unprepared tofu.

My dad used to have lots of shorts like that, right down to the pockets being pieced up into the waistband as a beltloop. He used them for biking in.

my dad had those, too. his were la coste, and they were mainly for tennis. i salvaged a couple of pairs (they were v. durable) in black and white in high school to attempt a mod summer look, but that was an idea before its time.

I used to have some of those shorts too, but in like pine green and dirt-grey, I think prob from Eddie Bauer or similar. There's a photo somewhere....

those are like the perfect length for shorts! seems to be v hard to find tho :/ or if i do find them, they fit weird, like the leg holes are all blousey or something dumb. but anyway, i guess i should just go to the AA guys' section and try these on obv

i have some 9" inseam lacoste shorts that i cuffed and they are a good length

i hate super short shorts cause only people with good bodys can pull them off.....what about the people with not so good bodys when they see people wearing these they felll ugly and jealous.....it can really hurt someones self assteme
