OK I've changed my mind on the dress. There is no way it could ever not look like it came from Forever 21.

maybe if it was accessorized differently... it's hard to pair a very short skirt with high stiletto heels and bare legs and not end up looking cheap.

the outfit looks even hotter to me now that the picture is downsized. but the feet are still pretty terrible.

what's so ugly about the actual outfit, is what i don't get? is it the shoes? i find the dress really cute? not that i don't think the shoes are amazing too, but i guess i can see how they could be more contentious.

i didn't read the original post on gfy, but i'd hazard a guess that the completely uneven application of orange fake tanner has a lot to do with it. and the exposed bra strap, i suppose. but mainly, i blame the tanner.

Surmounter - fwiw I think the dress is horrible. It looks like something a 7th grader would have worn in 1989 but not in a good way if that could ever be a good thing. I have never been a fan of the one long sleeve one sleeve less thing and the material is gross too. I don't know - I just think it's awful and would be bad even with a perfect application of tanner.

Okay, this is a different, self-made disaster.

I was waxing my own brows (bad economy, etc.) and dropped a glob of it on my eyelashes. I kept pressing it with a hot washcloth and got some off, trimmed a 1/4 inch of the end of my lashes but still have some. I *might* be able to camouflage it with mascara but it's very irritating and I'm still worried about it pulling out the lashes.

Any ideas? Please don't laugh.

can you put an ice cube on your eye and see if it helps freeze and break off the wax? that works with fabric :\

I don't know how that would have worked out, it made have made the lashes brittle!

Well, I kept working on it, gently separating the lashes. Most of it's gone now and it looks okay. Fortunately I have very long lashes so the missing bit doesn't really show.

So clumsy.

what kind of wax were you using?

Just the Sally Hansen kind you microwave. Otherwise it went really well and I was satisfied with the results. I'm sure I'll do it again but try to be much more careful.

i have the bliss poetic waxing kit but have yet to use it. my bangs cover my eyebrows at all times, pretty much, and this has made me incredibly lazy.

Susan, I would think if you got the lashes warm enough like in the shower or etc, it would wipe right off?? I'd prob do a hot washcloth on the eye for a few minutes and then blot with a tissue or paper towel to absorb the wax. I don't think that home-use stuff has to be all that hot to soften.

I used a hot washcloth at first and got quite a deal off. My lid just got so irritated from messing with it I left it alone. By this morning, most of it has gone so I think it will be alright. So stupid. . .

i think you were on the right track, though, l. continued hot water (in tolerable amounts) will probably clear up the rest/help it liquify/dissolve.

was why i was wondering what type of wax it was. some of them are sugary and will clean up pretty easily.

Olive oil/any other oil! I do my own legs and rubbing gently with oil will dissolve that shit no probs.

I used mineral oil where I spilled it on my hand, but srsly, with my bad luck I'd blind myself putting it on my eyes.

Speaking of eyebrow waxing, I do it professionally, but do you all get the phantom redness above the brows?

yes, and it started getting REALLY bad for me over the past few years, which is why i switched to threading. it doesn't make me red, and it seems to last longer than waxing. recently, though, i found out that a small place near my office will use what they call "sensitive" wax if you ask for it. i tried it a while back, and it was so much less irritating.

I never get any redness past the day of when I get it done at the salon.

the flouncy shoulders are ridiculous and make her look hueg, get rid of them and the dress is suddenly 50% better. the length is weird -- you could sew the shoulder ruffs onto the hem and it might be almost okay. but that orchidaceous collar is just too too much

not sure if it's because of the tits and hips or the fabric or what but she's makin' it look so sloppy

yeah -- i feel like that fabric does very few people any favors, and i'm kind of against it in structured items to begin with. should be only used in bias cut 1930s sheathy things. but the ruffles are really the thing here, she looks like a giant body with a tiny tiny head!

It looks like this bridesmaid dress that my sister had to wear once for a wedding, and I spent the whole week laughing at how bad she looked in it. Purple satin is no one's friend.

I support the design but oppose the color/fit/choice for her body type. Big hair would have helped. But ugh, the color! A deep plum would be nice, even a jewel-tone purple. That shade is too. . . . I dunno, lavenderish.

Yeah, satin is good for nobody, unless you're going to put it on AT the place where you're appearing, and then never sit down again until you take it off. Also her tits are enormous, so big, dramatic ruffles just make her look like one of those collared lizards with the aggression response (where oh where is that jpg when you need it??).

If she were one of those little starlets with a tiny ribcage and narrow, bony shoulders and a smaller chest, maybe it would work; maybe even then the fabric would sabotage it. But definitely that is way too much body in the satin.

honestly i kind of think she dresses poorly in general, and i try to give her a "it's hard for actresses bigger than 110 lbs to get someone to lend them dresses for events" pass, but this was beyond the pale. i just don't even understand why the designer would've went for this on her.

and yes, i agree that the shade of purple seems like it...clashes? i don't know how better to explain it. i have similar skin coloring and i have to be careful with purples.
