I just bought a bunch of nautica colorblock sweaters from macy's on Amazon. + Land's End and occasionally eddie bauer. LL Bean as mentioned but I haven't liked a lot of their stuff lately.

everyone already gave practical answers so i'll suggest pringle. all my best sweaters are theirs. also kitsune cardigans. for when your novel gets optioned.

yes, pringle is nice and sensible.. lyle & scott is similar but i think a bit cheaper.. kitsune, yes, great cardigans but $$$$$$$$
