Guys, I’ve been wasting money on mascara lately.

Maybellines XXL extensions microfiber mascara, like i said in the cosmetics thread makes lashes longer but sparse (Actually I think TZA said that about another "extension" mascara but it applies here too).
Now this new Covergirl mascara "Exact Eyelights" claims to have light reflecting metallics (different colors to match different eyes colors). I can’t see these 'metallics' myself (unless I run the brush across my finger) but maybe that’s the beauty of it. Two applications leaves lashes are as long as the Maybelline’s XXL extend and somewhat thicker. Also, eyes do seem brighter! I’m still not sure what the “exact” part of the product name refers to.

One hint: If you have green eyes and are blonde or golden brown (ie yellow based hair), opt for the Hazel version because it has gold coloring in it. The one for green eyes has 'ruby' coloring - better for hair with red tint, I guess.

bourjois volume glamour mascara: <3 <3 <3 <3
lengthens decently; volumizes without making lashes look too thick and fakey; good staying power. sadly, the whole brand has been discontinued.

l'oreal telescopic carbon black: <3 <3 <3
does a good job of lengthening but the volumizing effect is a bit too clumpy. staying power isn't anything to write home about. still, it's a pretty solid product for a drugstore brand.

Sunny, you convinced me, I'm trying the tinted Eyelights masc next! I have to go to the CVS anyway....

benefit posie tint: <3 <3

i really wanted to like this but it wasn't right for me. i think that my skin tone is wrong for it, but who is clamoring for lighter benetint except light-skinned people? it didn't show up on my face very strongly at all, i had to apply many layers. it's also a different consistency than regular benetint, much thicker and more gel-like, which made getting it out of teh bottle when i was at the end damn near impossible. ALSO the shiny opaque bottle flaked little bits of shiny all over my fingers by the end, it would rub off.

i went back to benetint and look so much more alive now!

it did have a nice color when i finally applied enough to stand out so maybe it would like nice on someone who is very pale and has absolutely no pink in their skin at all.

bad gal mascara is the worst mascara i've ever used no bones about it. i don't want to toss out something i've only used a month but this shit sucks. no staying power, starts drying out way too soon, ugh.

I like the bad gal eyeliner, but I heard the mascara was bad.

ugh it is night and day yesterday and today -- i threw the bad gal in my purse for emergency purposes and put on the lash blast luxe that i just bought on instead and i look SO much better, i'm kicking myself for trying to stick thru a full two-to-three months with the bad gal.
