Only in New York would you find something like that. Its the metropolis version of a jamacian sound system. It just breaks right down to the same old story, use what is around you.
Think about all the ghetto kids who couldn't afford flash turntables and stuff but had ghetto blasters. I seen this guy DJ Ting at a party in hamilton circa 96 CJing it in the back room. Its just like VJ's dong visuals off VHS rather than 320x240movs on laptops... you just need two spare decks to cue on cos its strictly linear, unlike records or cds which you can skip through. Which brings us to the beauty of it all, if you cut through the absurdity factor, who ever take out the title must be a freaking ninja.
