like i want to wear purple and orange but i feel like i should be going to a clemson tiger game. i feel this way about like black and purple (rockies) or red and yellow (florida state-- this is probably a symptom of growing up in florida actually) or even that north carolina blue. i think it's mostly w/ odd color combos, as i don't think anyone associates navy + white with the yankees or green + white with the jets.
but anyway, have any color combos been quote unquote ruined for you because of sports. or am i just a lunatic?

"razorback red" is actually a delightful shade of red that complements most people. I even had it on my wedding cake.

Now that you mention it, the St. Louis Cardinals may have subconsciously ruined red for me. Interesting.

i am 100% down with the ethos of this thread. because of a partiuclar UK soccer team i can't wear claret and blue (read: any shade of deep/dark red or purple with any shade of blue). it makes me almost physically ill to see those colours together. i can't even use them on the same Excel spreadsheet.

On the flipside of that, I like any combination of red and baby blue.

I can't wear navy and grey together at all.. also burgundy and gold here in DC, unless it's official Redskins gear, which I currently don't have though might get a hoodie by the time fall is here.

I only feel weird about this when I wear brown and orange, since I grew up in Browns country.

I much prefer volunteer orange to longhorn orange. and I would never wear anything that resembled the color schemes of the Lakers or the Dolphins but that's for the very simple reason that those colors are fucking awful.

Why do Tennessee fans wear orange all weekend? Because they can wear it huntin' on Friday, to Neyland Stadium on Saturday, and to pick up trash by the side of the road on Sunday.
