What would the hip and still-with-it 40 year old heads of boutique ad firms wear then? What would they wear????

navy jacket + business shirt untucked + jeans

(that's what they would wear, that's not a disaster)

i thought ad execs were supposed to wear fancy tshirts under their blazers

oh right. with like expensive leather shoes, and some sort of gold watch etc?

shapeless men's large t-shirts + pleated shorts on yr average middle-aged woman who is not gardening or canoeing or whatever but actually out in public, let this never happen to me

how does my often combo of herringbone tweed jacket (dark wool, or light linen) or Sand color linen jacked and jeans combo go down with you people?

I don't think I've ever worn jeans with a blazer or sport coat ... the closest is gray cotton twill pants. I'm sure people can pull it off

I wear jeans+blazer. It's all good.

obv it depends on both jeans and blazer and matchingness
tho i wld say that light jeans don't match with any blazers

i feel like vpl is a made up problem? a tight mini is probably not the best work choice, though.

I like to see what kind of knickers a woman has on.

VPL is a problem for me, I'll change my entire outfit if I can't find a clean pair of pants or a slip or something that doesn't show through clothes. I am just so embarrassed to think of every single strange man I walk past all day having an image of my underwear. Mortified. Will not do.

People's imaginations are their own business, but I'm not helping them along any more than is reasonable.
