Guy hair question

What can I do with this hair I've got? The individual strands are light, straight, and fine, but it gets dense when it grows out and gets really flat and floppy looking (even after it's razored a little).

What could prevent that really flat floppiness? Blow drying it? Mousse? I never used crap in my hair, but I've been learning many guys secretly do all this shit yet they pretend they don't.

Any starter hair tips here?

Thought this was gay hair question.

You should try styling your hair with another man's penis

I totally agree that guys deny doing stuff with their hair but A uses
Bumble + Bumble Sumotech and yeah, pretty much denies using it. But now that I know about it I def. think the hair looks better with some of that stuff in there.

I tried some of it in my hair on a trip because all my texturizing gels were over the TSA size limit. It was pretty light, it just adds some structure to your hair so it doesn't flop there from being clean.

If you are really into it, you might want to drop some real dough on a haircut one time and then watch what products they use. Or you can find a hair school night like Bumble + Bumble's on Craigslist.

bumble and bumble is funny as a product name. it puts a smile on my face.

I use a really minimal amount of shampoo and let my scalp do the rest. $29.00 is a bit much for a little tub of boiled-down sweat.

yeah, plus it has sheep grease and bee dandruff in it, for those people who give a shit about such things

if you get scrapie or HLD (hive-longing disorder) as an indirect result of yr vanity, or you suddenly are struck with the urge to be standing atop the shelf of some new england candle shoppe, then don't say i didn't warn ye

Okay now me, My hair doesn't at first seem curly but then it it suddenly is quite curly when it gets grown out a certain amount and while I like it as it looks after the shower when it is still dark and compact and I can brush it to the side, It gets very poofy in the wind and I start to look like a lunatic. I am terribly self conscious about getting haircuts and just want the whole ordeal to be over as soon as possible with as little eye contact as possible, so I would also need a clear one sentence unequivocal instruction on what to do. I don't like stuff in my hair either because it either feels greasy to me or if it is one of the ones that go hard, I can't help picking at it and it looks dandruffy.

Just to clarify, the look we're going for is chain-smoking black-wearing Kierkegaard reading hot Scandinavian bookish type.

Ideally, we are going for this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d3/FWNietzscheSiebe.jpg

I have no problem with finding Nietzsche hot

Yeah, just letting your natural hair grease do its thing usually works pretty well. Unfortunately for me during the summer it gets matted as fuck in the NYC metro area humidity, and I look like Chester J Nerdington or something.

note: washing your hair everyday is probably the worst thing you can do for it. I learned that after years of people saying "wash ur hair everyday!!"

burt_stanton, Thursday, 10 July 2008 06:02 (seventeen years ago)

I mean like, washing with shampoo and shit. I usually wash it out sans shampoo or conditioner everyday.
