Fashiony people who always & only wear black - has this ceased being a thing?

i remember it was rife 10-15 years ago, maybe even more recently but i don't know many of these kinds of people any more. does it still exist? people who were right into fashion and followed collections etc but whose only style angle seemed to be "any colour as long as it's black". dull dull dull.

i know there were a lot of houses at this time who did all-black collections - comme, the belgians, etc - but it filtered down from high fashion people to humble shop assistants.

is this angle totally dead or are there still some of them? how did it stop being a thing? what was the death knell for the all-black wardrobe?

i must say, tho, that i adore black + navy blue, or black + brown. murky combinations are great, just not all the time.

I hardly ever wear black - that shit is for sad balding IT workers in towelling socks and Children Of Bodom t-shirts.
