Chokers

I saw a woman wearing a choker the other evening. Are they coming back into style? Also she and some other woman that was not part of her party were both wearing those black leather wristband things that I seem to remember seeing a lot of circa 2001 or so.

I've had the urge to buy a choker lately!

I saw him in convulsive throws I said "I'll have one of those" (sunny successor), Thursday, 30 September 2010 15:36 (fifteen years ago)

those things make me melt.

While I remember liking them in the '90s, I am now slightly embarrassed to have liked anything in the '90s and never want to see them again unless in Victorian style with little cameos on them or something.

I've got ten bucks. SURPRISE ME. (Laurel), Friday, 1 October 2010 13:34 (fifteen years ago)

^ cosign, except for the part about having ever liked them

I thought they were so coll in the '90s...unfortunately I have a giant head and really no neck. Remember that kiddy ghost story about the woman who wore a green ribbon on her neck, and when her partner was finally allowed to remove it, her head fell off? Kinda looked like that, imo, like my very big head was miraculously staying attached to my body via this thing.

I was a teenager at the time too and I think my cabesa was the first thing to get a 'growth spurt'...so big.

I liked them in the 90s but I was thin* in the 90s and I think the choker look requires you to be thin with a slightly Victorian air of austerity, so I guess I will not be partaking of this revival

* well, not fat. So much. But still with a big square face so I probably should never have attempted to rock the choker look anyway. Hm.

That's a Washington Irving story taken out of context; it was set during the French Revolution, IIRC.

I love chokers and love the way they look on me, but I don't want to look that much out of date.

i tried one on this morning and have to say NAGL'10-11 fall/winter season although it might be me having subconscious memories of last seeing myself wear one of these when i was 20 years younger.
