hahahaha fair enough, I get my hair done by a woman who works out of her home but is a bit of a toronto legend, so she's awesome with pricing and nice at deals (when she dyed my hair orange the second time, she only charged me $50 and gave me the cut for free, because she felt bad that my overly bleached hair had contributed to it fading faster than she claimed it would)

i might go to ikea this wkend and make some out of character purchases that would correspond with me getting my actual character's shit together

10 skimpy tops in 5 days, on account of sweaty, sweltering shanghai rendered all of the shirts i had packed unwearable. lol thinking i could pack light and wear things twice!

also lol at the the thought of the intense negotiation required to purchase some of said tops. out of character purchase in many ways.

(the shopkeeper kept saying, "you hard today, lady!" which is pretty funny because i'm totally not.)

a sewing machine last week, though maybe its not that un-me. Been wanting to get one for ages. Want to make my own clothing or at least learn how to.

I bought the iPhone 4s (at plan upgrade price, obv). I usually get the cheapest phone I possibly can.

I bought some cream colored jeans, and a pair of red cigarette jeans, neither of which I would normally buy, but I think they will make me look like Speed Racer on my scoot. Or Trixie I guess.

wow, reading through this thread: i really did keep having blond-ish/red-ish hair for years! and now my hair is almost black and people i haven't seen for a while hardly recognize me!

i also like how i talk about going to ikea in 2008... i finally went TODAY

i didn't buy anything out of character, though my character has changed in the past four years. i am very into white/off-white and wood, it seems.
