Lets list our favorite brands for particular products eg: eyeshadow, foundation, hair dye, dresses, shoes etc etc etc. Also why they are your favorite.

i have probably already stanned too hard on this board for rachel comey shoes which are just gorgeous and beautifully made and come in perfect colors and are super comfortable and once i emailed them and rachel herself wrote me back and was very sweet

Goldwell's Elumen hairdye (for bright colours - lasts ages longer than yr Manic Panics and whatnot but you need to go thru a hairstylist or Etsy)
Smashbox primer (eye and face - last's all damn day)
Mac's Russian Red lipglass (best colour red I have ever found)

- Clinique mascara (doesn't hurt eyes; doesn't smudge; shiny silver tube)
- Clarks shoes (once in a while they actually have a non-ugly style; because i have british feet)
- Calvin Klein underwear (i like it), tho recently being usurped by Uniqlo underwear (the all-cotton, lace trimmed kind, on the far back wall - in bikini and brief styles - get them!). i also love Uniqlo straight-leg skinny jeans (but only in dark dark blue bc other colours don't have same durable fabric structure or something.)
- Kiehl's olive fruit oil conditioner, and their handcream with spf
- Aveda Brilliant shampoo (i even bought the giant one with pump. pro styles.)
- Dior lipstick
- la Belladonna mineral make-up (powder foundation - this stuff is great)

i think if i had more money these brands would be a little different and more indulgent... like
- Theory dresses (i own one but have tried on others. all great) and other Theory clothing items

mostly my clothes (other than a million random t-shirts) are either boutique-y small (i.e., younger) designers or H&M though!

Jesus Christ. I've never bought an item of clothing or shoes that much. Maybe a coat that was originally around that but on sale but damn.

I know you're going to say they last forever but I wear out shoes really quickly and I just don't think I could bring myself to pay that much for a pair.

They are pretty sweet looking though that's for sure.

R - a friend of mine is the chief designer for their Indigo line which has some surprisingly non-ugly offerings.

Mascara - As previously detailed - Voluminous - Black - Waterproof
Concealer - Covergirl - the really basic stick one that comes in a blue twist up stick
Deodorant - Dove Invisible solid
Eyeshadow - MAC - I have a palette which I fill with their pan shadows. That said - Covergirl single eyeshadow in "Tapestry Taupe" is the best everyday neutral I've ever found.
Urban Decay Potion Primer
Sneakers - Converse always the others get switched up
Accessory splurges - Kate Spade
Underwear - VS but not their bras I HATE their bras
Tank tops - Gap body basic camisole in black - it's the best

Nail polish - OPI and Essie really do make the best. Butter London has amazing colors but I'm not sure the formula is as good.

oh and I used to be loyal to TIGI shampoo but I picked up a 99 cent brand shamp and cond for shits and giggles recently and I genuinely like it better

i got all my pairs at sample sales for $100-$200. its okay! some people are "okay" with spending a ton of money on clothes and some people are not. when this discussion has started up on ilx before it tends to not lead anywhere

Oh OK see that seems more reasonable to me. I'd pay that for them if they were really good. I need to find out more about sample sales. Hmmmmm.

if my income were higher (and one day it will be dammit!) i would spend that on shoes (and also give more to charities, no joke)

Tank tops - Gap body basic camisole in black - it's the best
oh, i will look for this! i almost never go to the gap but basics are a good reason. what i like in camisoles though is more of a square neckline (like, the straps come closer to arms than to neck) than a scooped neckline, and that is surprisingly difficult to find. but anyway...

The camisoles have a but of lyrca in them but it's just the right amount and they're great for layering imo.

i was all set to post and then realized i don't have much brand loyalty. the one thing i'll rep for is:
- PERFUME flower by kenzo. i've been wearing this stuff for years. smells kind of ugh out of the bottle, but smells a little chocolatey on my skin.

shirts, I can never find shirts I like. Solid-color button-up that's not dressy and doesn't have fake epaulets and shit. LL Bean/Land's End/Filson have similar things but the arms are all huge and no one makes a good olive drab or khaki
North Face has the best t-shirts, just the right thickness while being soft, but most of the designs are uggo and I don't climb mountains
American Crew wax for hair

also i have 100% brand loyalty to happy socks. i got like 50 pairs...

Uniqlo Dark jeans/sweaters/+J - cheapish and cut well
Kiehl's ultra-moisturizer- no scent and I can layer it on and not feel greasy
Clairol Perfect 10 hairdye- have had grey hair since I was 15 and this is the fastest and doesn't fade
Revlon lipsticks - am allergic to a lot of high end lipsticks, these go on smooth and for some reason go on sale in the drugstores near me for $3 a tube
