40+ stylez

the late great, Thursday, 19 July 2012 23:02 (twelve years ago)

What to wear when I get older and can't reasonably rock my current styles is something I do worry about.

Good luck Dads.

My own father is very fond of beige jumpers like so:

My dad now wears like slacks and gant or lacoste jumpers. If he's going out very dadstyle sports jackets.

He does occasionally have nice shirts or whatever, my mum buys it all for him and doesn't do a bad job.

my dad:

white, heather grey, or navy blue tee. often long-sleeve.

cargo shorts, jeans, or cords.

running shoes.

this is pretty much what he wears like 90% of the time

My dad is color blind which makes for some hilarious outfits.

My dad is taste blind which makes for some embarrassing outfits

my dad is kind of stylin, in a casual outdoors guy way
like, wayfarers, newish low-top hiking shoes in grey or some neutral, no bright colours, cotton work/hiking shirt, popped collar, belt, sometimes a scarf or neutral-toned bandana around his neck. he's like west-coast 1920s national geographic desert explorer. he cares about fashion but don't tell him that.

my dad sent me pictures from santa barbara

imagine larry david in flips flops, hawaiian shirt, dockers shorts

just the body language, not the face

One time during a family shopping trip my dad gave serious consideration to buying an Ed Hardy jacket
He really likes Tommy Bahama shirts, and not the subtle toned down ones
Socks with sandals? Yes, it's been known to happen

tan shorts, brown pennyloafers ... black socks to complete the look

Some dad fashion is quite cool tho, or maybe grandad fashion, in a mythical "your grandad is the guy from tinker tailor soldier spy" way, mac and umbrella and brogues etc.
