Mostly I was thinking about this slate article and the whole amazing idea of "colour forecasting" and how that works.

but also i quite like that yellow.

seriously, THIS GUY (daria-g), Thursday, 28 March 2013 01:17 (twelve years ago)

You missed the men's colors. It's all the same except with the addition of Alloy, Tidal Foam, and subbing Vibrant Orange for Nectarine.

my ex wife always said wearing red was for toddlers

agree / disagree?

the late great, Monday, 1 April 2013 04:17 (twelve years ago)

there is something a little childish about it -- red apparently suits me well (i assume it's that it makes the redness/pinkness of my skin less prominent) but you have to be willing to look a little loud, which I v rarely am. Patterns with red in aren't super babyish, though, it's only block-colour red hoodies/coats that have I guess the fairytales and fireengines connotations.

that jacket's niiiice tho. possibly the irregular white line of the zips is 90s-severe enough to mitigate?

jonathan livingston seapunk (c sharp major), Monday, 1 April 2013 12:32 (twelve years ago)

A friend got me a poppy red shirt and I love it. The rest of my wardrobe was pretty dour at the time, also it was fitted and all of my other shirts were baggy. Wasn't convinced but as soon as I put it on I felt like a million dollars.

i kind of feels its ridiculous to make statements that general about color w/r/t clothing, especially since colors mean different things in different contexts, on different garments, in different settings, rendered in different fabrics, etc etc etc. which is a roundabout way of saying your ex = rong.

three weeks pass...

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

System, Friday, 26 April 2013 00:01 (twelve years ago)

i'm starting to get a little more into the subject of ~color~, since my job is the one and only garment dyer for a small clothing company. i don't pick the palette for the season, although i have some input, but my job is to come up with formulas for whatever colors are chosen.
