I live in what is apparently the only place on earth where my wife doesn't want to kill herself. That place is in a dry county, so there is no local bar where friends and I can get together and shoot the breeze. It's in one of the reddest of red states, so I'm surrounded by people who want my liberal commie pinko ass dead anyway. I'm agnostic and extremely allergic to organized religion, so finding a church community is out. It's in one of the least educated places in the country, so a conversation about art and culture is hard to come by.

What else do I have but internet message boards?

ILX's decline is incredibly upsetting to me, because I hate it here, I want to leave, but I'm a social creature and I have no idea what I'd replace it with.
