I told them I was cancelling because of the half-time show (AOL sponsored it). It thru the customer svc lady for a loop -- I told her I knew it wasn't her fault and didn't need to be a jerk to the customer svc person who was just doing her job and sounded real nice. She just recorded the reason and asked if I had any trouble with my "interaction" with AOL. I said, no, I had no problem with the customer svc. She had nothing from her list to suggest to me. Her first question was "Did you get high-speed cable?" so I can see how if I had said yes it would have been a long speil on their alternatives to cable or who knows what. It was real fast. And that half-time show was scandalous. Maybe next time they sponsor one they'll demand something good: I suggest that each year there should be a different reinactment of a great event in American history.

I canceled in 5 minutes. I told the rep I had gone blind. There was a stunned silence for several seconds, then in an Indian accent, "I am so very sorry!" Still the usual BS - "do you have high speed, DSL, etc." But when I said I could no longer see the computer he became very accomodating.

AOL Sucks, I will never, ever join or allow any friends or Family of mine join. I will spread the word of how horrible the Customer service is when trying to cancel. They need to concentrazte on other things like keeping customers for legitimate reasons. Too many people have complaints that should tell them somehitng.
