Journey Into Fear or The Mask Of Dmitrios. Both are good.

Have just finished Cause For Alarm and really liked that as well. I'd suggest that Journey Into Fear has the strongest element of tension and The Mask Of Dimitrios wins out on plot. Cause For Alarm isn't quite so strong on either count but is certainly worth a look.
Epitaph For A Spy is readable but inessential.
Fundamentally, they do all have the same storyline (plucky innocent stumbles into web of international intrigue and extricates self by skin of teeth) but they're undeniably enjoyable.

reading coffin for dimitrios right now! i have been on a spy kick this year and never read ambler. so far enjoying him a lot more than alan furst who is verrrrrrry dry and likes to lecture you.
