My Brother's An Ass...

Okay...here's the gripe....
My brother is 13. He doesn't sleep in his own bed, he sleeps on the couch and leaves the TV on. Wherever he eat, he doesn't take his dishes to the sink. He leaves them everywhere for my mother to clean up after him. He never does his homework on time, and makes my mother type it up cause he whines and says " He doesn't know how to type good." The last straw though... is he had a project due today and he didn't turn it in. He's had over a month to do it, and he spent all this last weekend playing video games saying he didn't know what to do cause he didn't have any ideas. He doesn't even put his clothes in his hamper, he just leaves them EVERYWHERE. His socks are in the living room and shit. He is the epitome of lazy and unmotivated. I'm afraid I might hurt him.

that's ridiculous. someone needs to kick his self-motivated disrespectful immature thirteen year old ass. i hope it's your mother who does it. she's the one who deserves the pleasure, and it'll be good for her to do it before the rest of the world does... for his sake.

Possibility One - He has no self-discipline, and has no respect for authority... you throw him into the army or boarding school, have them completely restructure his brain that he won't take a shit unless someone tells him too. Downside being that his supressed personality traits might resurface into something involving bell towers and sharpshooting.

Possibility Two - You give him a psychiatric evaluation, come to the conclusion that he's a good kid and wants to the right thing but his brain is going in so many different direction he doesn't know where to start, and a lack of self-confidence is causing him to rely on others for EVERYTHING. You start him on ritalin, and maybe it's just what he needs to function like everyone else or maybe this becomes his first taste of drugs, he starts to develop severe stomach cramps from the ritalin, begins using other drugs to counteract the pain, starts up a post-punk downbeat rock band in Seattle and then blows his head off at the height of his career, after he's "just not feeling the music anymore".

Possibility Three - He's just spoiled. You start giving him tough love. He refuses to clean his room, you take all the contents out and put it on the front yard with a sign marked "Yard Sale". You sell his video game system and then buy him a gift certificate to kinko's and a new trapper keeper. Eventually he sees what your doing is in your best interest, or he comes to the conclusion you are a sadistic bitch and starts hanging out at Denny's where he takes up chainsmoking and talking to female high-school dropouts who where fishnets on their arms, looking for a new source of love that stopped once he felt alienated from his family.

Possibilty Four: He's a thirteen year old kid. Don't let anyone encourage his bad habits.

Should have read that one before posting...
"restructure his brain SO that"
"good kid and wants to DO the right thing"
"What you're doing is in HIS best interest"

Apparently my mind is skipping like a record player tonight

Thanks for the advice guys... basically, my brother is a good kid... and he does care. He's a ery sensitive caring person. He cries before he yells...then he cries and yells... but he's so FUCKNIG LAZY. He'll never do drugs "cause theyre bad". He's that type. Eh.

I don't know if there's a cure for laziness, but getting a decent amount of sleep (in a consistent pattern) and eating well (in a consistent pattern) may give him more energy. If that doesn't work, than he probaly has some bigger--ie psychological--problems. Or, as Dan said, he's a 13 y/o boy and will hopefully grow out of this.

hide whatever he leaves somewhere where he won't find it, then he won't leave stuff around 'cos he'll lose it. can't give you any ideas on his homework side however.

well you don't necessarily want to touch his stuff directly right? so get some tongs or something;D or a bin bag and turn it inside out like picking up dog crap or whatever people who let their dogs shit on pavements etc do.

Why don't you tell your family to obvious? Is your brother-in-law depressed? Mentally fucked? Sick? I'm of the belief that laziness usually has a cause... sometimes it's as simple as selfishness, but sometimes it's not.

two weeks pass...
Yes, your brother must sound like an ass. Here's what I suggest you do: Dip him in a big giant vat of depilatory cream. Yeah, that stuff will make him itch for practically eternity.
Here's another one: GIVE HIM A FREAKIN' LOBOTOMY. (It worked well for Randle P. McMurphy in "One flew over the cuckoo's nest")

Good luck, and happy pickings.
