"Anarchy in the U.K."

The end of the Fall's 'Paranoia Man in Cheap Shit Room'. It does NOT work in Cat Power's 'Love to be Silly'.

i think the spells laugh at the end of their cover of "can't explain". its cute. i used to crack up in the middle of songs when playing live all the time. it was probably a nervous habit, or to do with copious amounts of alcohol. hey i think brett michaels laughs in "nothing but a good time" too.

di smith (lucylurex), Thursday, 12 June 2003 00:18 (twenty-two years ago)

"Billy Billy, Billy so silly!"

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Thursday, 12 June 2003 00:24 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah ladytron does it in one of their songs, and that's what made me start the thread. they're trying to be creepy, i think, but it just sounds obnoxious.

rebekah (rebekah), Thursday, 12 June 2003 02:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh is it 'Open Yr Heart'? It creeps me a bit, it's such a lovely sweet song to laugh on.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Thursday, 12 June 2003 02:20 (twenty-two years ago)

!!! Andrew I can end yr tape with that song. A-DUH

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Thursday, 12 June 2003 02:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh great!!

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Thursday, 12 June 2003 03:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Actually I'm pretty sure that won't fit, but I just thought of something else. Whoops posted that on the wrong thread! Anyway I already have another tape planned so I'll be sure to put it on that one.

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Thursday, 12 June 2003 03:15 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm so lucky. What a friend you are, Elisabeth.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Thursday, 12 June 2003 03:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Aww thank you.

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Thursday, 12 June 2003 03:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Also can we get those tapes from RG soon? I have a few to do. I could put another one together for you really easily, I always have too many ideas! How's RTX? I'm listening to the Excuse 17 Cd, the Lp rocked me out last night! I put 'Forever Fired' on Livvie's tape, I want to tape 'Watchmaker' for someone now

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Thursday, 12 June 2003 03:18 (twenty-two years ago)

OK lets get the tapes this Saturday. I am always up for a tape! RTX is good of course, I listened to it last night in my half asleep in front of the heater state. It skips maybe twice but not badly so it'll probably be fine on a better turntable.

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Thursday, 12 June 2003 04:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Unless it's from scratches I can probably fix it, though yeah it probably is just the turntable. Or the NEEDLE, the way my new needle pretty much refuses to skip on anything is hella good

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Thursday, 12 June 2003 04:15 (twenty-two years ago)

it's like a jungle sometimes, it makes me wonder how i keep from going under, ahaha-haha

webber (webber), Thursday, 12 June 2003 09:36 (twenty-two years ago)

i luv fake laughs in songs

unknown or illegal user (doorag), Friday, 13 June 2003 02:28 (twenty-two years ago)

There's a pretty bad fake laugh on an Embrace song ("Spoke", I think) which makes a not good song worse.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Friday, 13 June 2003 05:15 (twenty-two years ago)

ok examples where it's good for inst. - "bad seed (you're a bad seed)" by the circus, (possibly best ever), "little girl" by the syndicate of sound (possibly the best ever), "animal man" by kim fowley (possibly the best ever). oh there's loads more tho.

duane, Friday, 13 June 2003 23:56 (twenty-two years ago)

in "practise makes perfect" by wire laughing is sort of used as percussion. in conjunction with the music, it comes off sounding spooky.

di smith (lucylurex), Sunday, 15 June 2003 05:51 (twenty-two years ago)

saint etienne's "i was born on christmas day" would SO not work (ie establish a mood I guess) without the laughing.

also - che fu's "tha mish (2)"

Ess Kay (esskay), Sunday, 15 June 2003 05:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Its only good when it works with the song. But it still is not enought to justify making an entire thread about the damn thing! Rebekah, your probably not to smart in the head huh?

Adrian McCoy (Adrian McCoy), Tuesday, 17 June 2003 00:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Rebekah is smrt. shee gose to big gurl colleg far far awaie.

Lola Falana, Tuesday, 17 June 2003 07:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Ok the Embrace song I meant turns out to be "No More Pain".

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Wednesday, 18 June 2003 13:24 (twenty-two years ago)

another good one is "message from a black man" by the detroit spinners where it goes "yes i know, your skin is white/(*patronising chuckle*)/but tell me my man, does that make you right", that's on this tape i play alla time in my car

duane (doorag), Thursday, 19 June 2003 02:03 (twenty-two years ago)

You taped that for me, and I think it's great too

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Thursday, 19 June 2003 04:09 (twenty-two years ago)

it works fine in "Wannabe."

Justyn Dillingham (Justyn Dillingham), Thursday, 19 June 2003 07:01 (twenty-two years ago)

fuck yeah. hey duane laughs at the end of an international telepaths track.
