mainly because some idiot is setting off fireworks a few blocks away right now. this is Tucson, where it's about 110 degrees at night, it's by far the driest month of the year, and half the sky is filled with smoke (no exaggeration) from the fires raging outside town. and someone is still setting off fireworks. how fucking STUPID can people get?

perhaps you missed my point, Lola. when you set off fireworks over water you don't need to worry that you're going to SET THE OCEAN ON FIRE. I do hate my neighborhood, but not enough to want to see it go up in smoke.
