I give The Doors a 10.

1) Jim Morrison gets a 10 for completely fucking every acidhead up who had never heard "The End" before, only to be left completely messed up by Jim's blast of obscenities and insanity after seven minutes of trailing, mystical musical wandering

2) I give Jim a 10 for also being honest about himself on stage, even if it meant getting himself arrested

3) I give his lyrics a 7. Some of his verse is truely inspired and poetic, while other pieces are just fine examples of artistic masterbation.

4) I give the rest of the band (Kreiger, Manserek, Densmore) a ten for not only mixing up styles to produce something that sounded quite original at the time, but for also putting up with all of Jim's narcistic and self-destructive bullshit. Although they probably could have tried a little harder to save him, I don't know how much good it would have done.

Oh, and fuck all that sixties bullshit rock and all those dead white rockstars like Jimmy Hendrix. I almost forgot to add that in too.
