I love jazz. It is really the basis for a lot of great music that I listen to today. Lol. Someone was taken aback yesterday when I told him that "Summertime" was NOT a Sublime original. Ella Fitzgerald gives me goosebumps everytime I listen to her sing it....*shudder*

Hardly anything, Oops, just a few comps (including the "King Tubby's Special" dbl Lp on Trojan, which I was listening to when I did this thread), a couple of Pablo/Perry records ("Born in the Sky by Lee, "Melodica Master" or something by Pablo) and the King Tubby's Meets Rockers Uptown Lp. I love them all, though. Actually a lot of the Pablo and Perry records is I guess more "roots" or something than dub, close enough for me

Andrew, if your looking for more, I suggest King Tubby/Harry Mudie 'In Dub Conference' vol 1-3, anything on Blood & Fire (Dub Gone Crazy and Scientist's 'Dub in the Roots Tradition' especially) or Pressure Sounds (No Bones for the Dogs is awesome), the early 80s Scientist Meets.... albums. I recently got a comp called 'Dub Over Dub'--inexpensive yet high-quality two cd set of Errol T dubs.

i am NOT a scientist lover. but on oops recommendation i listened to In a roots tradition again and it was pretty fucking good. thing is maybe Tubbs and Jammy are far wilder. that said i haven't heard and of the scientist vs....or rids the world or whatever records.

often also i think this depends who hes dubbing. i have a set where he dubs roy cousins riddims and it is deathly dull. and i LOVE roy cousins.
