today I rang the medical centre asking for an appointment asap. My son ( 2 1/2 years old ) was pretty ill and had started to show symptoms way too close to those associated with meningococcal disease for my liking.
We live 5 doors away from that medical centre, which I did mention during my hurried explanation / request. Y'know, as in, it would only have taken me 30 seconds to get there from home. The next closest medical centre is half an hours drive away ( our usual one doesnt open on weekends )
The GP then simply fucking hung up on me after saying they were closing in a few minutes!

WTF?
After listening to me saying I was really worried about this awful, life and limb threatening disease being present in my Small Child, the frigging tosser hung up!

ok so maybe his packed lunch was really tasty and he had been dreaming and drooling about eating it since the wee hours or something.
So he should have closed up, and made sure to garner the greatest possible pleasure by eating such a yummy lunch asap.

If it wasn't for the more pressing concern of having my son checked out by a doctor Somewhere around here, I would have happily skipped down the road and whistled as I hammered a wooden stake into that moron's head.

aside from the obligatory letters expressing my outrage to everyone I can think of, anyone got further, perhsp more personally satisfying suggestions?

no Im not serious about that last bit, really.
Just needed to scream about this somewhere, and because it is not yet 5am, there isn't anyone around to hear me, other than you lot :-)

god, what a callous asshole. you could write a letter to the newspaper about it so that everyone knows what a rude bastard he is. how is your son now, by the way?

Man that sucks, I don't think as a doctor they'd need to be that worried about closing on time.
