I Love John Cusack

In light of the recent and baffling hate campaign being waged against this fine actor, I thought I'd make my feelings clear. AND I'd FORGOTTEN he was in 'Being John Malkovich'! And he was fantastic! And 'Bullets Over Broadway', he was pretty good in that too. And a bunch of movies you already know about.

However I fully support Cuspidorian's right to dislike him, in case that wasn't clear.

yeah i kind of cringe at myself for liking him. but i do. films i have seen him in: high fidelity, bob roberts, grosse pointe blank.

AIR CON where are you when i need you in this fucking 35 degree C heat that's pretty much 24/7. as for john, his profile (his side view, to differentiate from his slight indie status) leaves A LOT to be desired. but i'm glad poeple who look like him, and not just people who look like orlando bloom, make it into the flicks.

Clare (not entirely unhappy), Wednesday, 17 September 2003 12:38 (twenty-two years ago)

hahahaha yeah my oamaru gal pals are crazy in love with orlando, its truly sick. almosy as sick as elijah wood love.

I assume that some of you remember him as one of the super nerds in 16 Candles. As I recall, he was one of the two who wore some sort of visual device (scope). His sister, of course, had a bit part also as the girl with the orthodondal device interferring with her getting a drink from a fountain.....

Who'd a thunk what those roles would have led to for both of them?

ed dill (eddill), Monday, 3 November 2003 07:15 (twenty-one years ago)

I really thought we'd mentioned that already! It's funny, you don't see much of the others in that movie.

From a thread about High Fidelity (the book) on ILM today:
"Yeah, it's cute. I liked it. But is it as cute as John Cusack? No."

I did not say this, Kenan Hebert did, so no one need even say "yeah whatevz". I will only reiterate that if I was working in my record store and a hott woman comes up to me and asks if I am playing Stereolab (which I am, because I am me) then I would probably shack up with her and leave my annoying girlfriend.

This is a purely hypothetical situation.
