It's no secret that my vote's with the sublime Pineapple Lump icecream on this one, but what do the rest of you people think?

Minty (Minty), Friday, 7 November 2003 01:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Tho I have to admit that I've never tried Pineapple Lump icecream in a cone, so I'm unable to say how well it handles the all important bowl-cone transistion (icecreamologists call it the Schnelling-Loenitz boundary). I guess it would do pretty well, but until I try it I'll have to go with Caramel Fudge as the greatest cone icecream.

i'm all about vanilla. its the shiznit. but i'll take any ice cream bar peppermint. MINT IS THE FRUIT OF SATAN'S BUTT. including you minty, so there.

Today's answer: Chunky Monkey

oops (Oops), Friday, 7 November 2003 01:31 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm gonna have to diasgree with Ms. Lurex on the Satan's butt point. Sometimes a scoop or two of mint choc chip really hits the spot.

&what on earth is Chunky Monkey?

Minty (Minty), Friday, 7 November 2003 01:38 (twenty-one years ago)

it sounds very rude, doesn't it?

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Friday, 7 November 2003 01:39 (twenty-one years ago)

I like mint choc chip and goody gumdrops.

I'm not, historically, a big ice cream afficienado but recently a chain has moved in (actually 2 chains) that have caught my attention (and taste buds)...

1. Honey Hut ....whenever I'd hear commercials with someone saying how an ice cream was "so creamy", I'd think NO ONE ever says that. The first time I tried HH's ice cream, that's EXACTLY what I said! It is wonderful, especially their strawberry.

2. Handel's .....I'm not quite as fond of theirs as HH but they have about 30 more flavors on the menu including all the weird ones. My 9 year old daughter go into their "Cotton Candy ice cream. It is one of the worst tasting things I've ever attempted to eat (at least since that Vietnamese cook floated some tripe in my vietnamese soup)....hey, another flavor for Handel's....tripe ice cream!

ed dill (eddill), Friday, 7 November 2003 03:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Honey Hut??? My god, that's even worse than Chunky Monkey! Is this some kind of American thing?

Minty (Minty), Friday, 7 November 2003 03:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Have you folx not heard of Ben and Jerry's?
Chunky Monkey is banana ice cream with fudge chunks and walnuts.
Chubby Hubby sounds like it could be a disaster but it's really good:
Fudge-Covered Peanut Butter-Filled Pretzels in Vanilla Malt Ice Cream Rippled with Fudge & Peanut Butter
Phish Food is so good that it almost makes me not hate the band: Chocolate Ice Cream with Gooey Marshmallow, a Caramel Swirl & Fudge Fish

oops (Oops), Friday, 7 November 2003 06:14 (twenty-one years ago)

we don't have ben and jerry in the antipodes

the surface noise (electricsound), Friday, 7 November 2003 08:42 (twenty-one years ago)

I wish we did, it sounds delicious.

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Friday, 7 November 2003 09:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Grrr, now you're making me think of that place that delivers Ben & Jerry's till 3am. But truly the greatest ice cream of all time must be butter pecan. It's got sweet; it's got salt; it's got nuts; what more do you need?

j.lu (j.lu), Saturday, 8 November 2003 04:42 (twenty-one years ago)

BTW, Honey Hut is NOT a flavor. It is a chain of ice cream stores and they have the creamiest ice cream, albiet not many exotic flavors, that I've ever tasted. They even make plain old vanilla taste special. And their strawberry is to die for....

ed dill (eddill), Monday, 10 November 2003 03:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Today I got some caramel rocky road ice cream and it tastes much like the ice cream bar of the same name. I don't think I can handle too much of it at one time, it's very sweet. An 8.

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Monday, 10 November 2003 03:45 (twenty-one years ago)

rocky road is my favorite flavor

oops (Oops), Tuesday, 11 November 2003 00:41 (twenty-one years ago)
