What do you think? I got some I'd like to see:

May 3: James Brown Day (everyone has to listen to James Brown)

June 12: Free Cheese Day (where you get FREE CHEESE)

July 28: Ask Her Out Already Day (where you ask out that girl you been wanting to ask out for months, but haven't had the balls)

September 2: No Shooting People Day (you're not allowed to shoot anyone today. Don't worry - they'll still be there tomorrow.)

When I was young, I always asked my mother why there was no Children's Day. She said every day was Children's Day. I don't think I am alone in getting that type of response either.

I wonder what Brian Eno Day would involve! Yes, I know. Earlier in the day, everyone would rock out to song Eno. Then as it got dark, people would retire to their homes and listen to ambient Eno and be ambient generally.

Yeah, it was just a dance, more or less. They used to do James Brown songs live, so it wasn't much of a stretch. There's some live version of Whole Lotta Love that morphs into Cold Sweat with Robert Plant adlibbing "do the James Brown" somewhere.

As regards July 28, seeing as next year is a leap year, on February 29 the ladies get to propose to the gents.

it's in an old "peanuts" strip from the '60s, but that's the only other place i've heard it. i never asked the question myself, possibly because even as a kid myself i didn't think kids deserved a day, haha. (7-year-old justyn: "fuckin kids! arrrrgh!")

I asked my parents too. I don't think Children's Day would've been too good for me since I gave my parents pretty crappy Mother's/Father's day presents. Once I found a green pencil that said Happy Mother's Day on the side and that was my gift.
