Sometimes I think what w/me (and Elisabeth too) loving herkyjerky 80s crap so much I might be Ok w/just records w/these guys playing drums at some point (it covers so much! Swell Maps, the Gist, the Raincoats, Phil Manzanera even, This Heat, Lora Logic's solo record, the best Red Krayola record ("KANGAROO?")), loads and loads of other stuff. Except I'd be miserably annoyed cos many good bands (Sleater-Kinney, Magnetic Fields, Saint Etienne, the Beatles, various good other bands (the Ramones)) have never had these drumtastic fucks play w/them. BUT. They have surely played on more than their share of bitchin sides! Aren't they great? Maybe I could add Jaki Liebezeit or something. This is obv not a QUESTION, I'm just kinda bored. Adrian, what do you think?

Uh just say if you own or have heard any or many records w/these guys playing on them if you like

Mr Mime (Andrew Thames), Thursday, 27 May 2004 13:19 (twenty-one years ago)

lora logic = best punk name evah

J.D. (Justyn Dillingham), Thursday, 27 May 2004 13:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Essential Logic's a FUCKING COOL NAME for a band formed by a chick named Lora Logic, too. You've got that KRS reissue, don't you?

Mr Mime (Andrew Thames), Thursday, 27 May 2004 13:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Actually I just realised, I dunno if it counts cos he prob came up w/it in 1974 or some lameass time like that but PREPUNK etc, I think Epic Soundtracks is really my fav rock/punk/whatever name ever.

Mr Mime (Andrew Thames), Thursday, 27 May 2004 13:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh look I didn't close a bracket, Warren G. has to moderate

Mr Mime (Andrew Thames), Thursday, 27 May 2004 13:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Done. Does anyone else remember that song? "Regulate"?

Mr Mime (Andrew Thames), Thursday, 27 May 2004 13:31 (twenty-one years ago)

"G-Funk Era"! Fuck those were the days, it was a pretty good single but ANYTHING involving Snoop Doggy Dogg (as he was called in those times) sold a boatload. I saw a MOVIE starring him as a vengeful ghost at Elisabeth's work the other day, actually. I think we should watch that, E. Do you agree? I wanna watch "Zoolander" again, too, what do you think? I am of course vaguely trolling for more not me posts, tho I don't really mind either way.

Mr Mime (Andrew Thames), Thursday, 27 May 2004 13:52 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah i have the EL reissue, it's awesome, i keep meaning to write something about it, but i don't listen to it as much as i should really.

J.D. (Justyn Dillingham), Thursday, 27 May 2004 22:36 (twenty-one years ago)

The Gist's one and only Lp has BOTH these guys drumming btw

Mr Mime (Andrew Thames), Friday, 28 May 2004 00:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Did you ever listen to that Camberwell Now tape? Yeah I know tapes suck the CD boxset is coming. Um yeah i gotta go cause Pumice is playing soon.

mahmsisthisht (cuspidorian), Friday, 28 May 2004 09:14 (twenty-one years ago)

I have NO records w/ either of them on it so far as I know. Aww.

Livvie (Livvie), Friday, 28 May 2004 11:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah I did listen to that a few times (and prob will again tho yeah tapes are annoying), thanks for it. I like This Heat/my Charles H. solo rec better tho, I think.

Mr Mime (Andrew Thames), Friday, 28 May 2004 11:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Livvie Charles Hayward plays on "Diamond Head", actually, not that you'd know from the cover

Mr Mime (Andrew Thames), Friday, 28 May 2004 12:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Right. I still think it'd be pretty sad if I was only allowed to listen to stuff w/ them tho.

Livvie (Livvie), Friday, 28 May 2004 12:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Well so would I, but it could be a LOT worse. I should make a list of EVERYTHING they're on, it'd prob be a good 50-60 records worth of good records

Mr Mime (Andrew Thames), Friday, 28 May 2004 12:36 (twenty-one years ago)

We should make a list for the zine and talk a whole lot about the greatness of herkyjerky. I'm gonna go listen to Kangaroo? now.

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Friday, 28 May 2004 19:29 (twenty-one years ago)

It feels really weird saying zine these days! Like it's outdated or something and people are gonna think I'm stuck in the 90s and should have a website or proper magazine or something. Wouldn't mind a proper magazine though.

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Friday, 28 May 2004 19:30 (twenty-one years ago)

hi "regulate" is the fucking shit. i really don't get that essential logic stuff. most of it bores me. do i own anything charels hayward played on?

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Saturday, 29 May 2004 00:14 (twenty-one years ago)

"Odyshape"!

Mr Mime (Andrew Thames), Saturday, 29 May 2004 00:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah a herkyjerky article would be great, so would actually doing the zine. The 90s were pretty cool anyway, who cares

Mr Mime (Andrew Thames), Saturday, 29 May 2004 00:44 (twenty-one years ago)

The Fever album is great! Um, it's got the retro herky jerky post-punk dance fever but the songs are amazing. Every track is solid.
