I held my breath for a while but decided to breath before I passed out. Reagan was much better at this than I am.

My attempt 2/10
Reagan 8/10 would have given him the full marks but points deducted for procastination.

And now Robert Quine may be dead. Suicide at 60. This is much sadder news. I hope he hadn't read this thread.

Mr Mime (Andrew Thames), Monday, 7 June 2004 01:52 (twenty years ago) link

Apparently his wife died earlier this year. Oh, geez. He was bald, too! A true hero! I've never heard him play anything that wasn't great, maybe I should listen to "The Blue Mask" tonight, he's GREAT on that. And maybe I should ceremonially destroy my copy of "Legendary Hearts", on which Lou mixes him more or less off the record and it has a stupid title anyway

Mr Mime (Andrew Thames), Monday, 7 June 2004 04:03 (twenty years ago) link

Hey that's very very sad about Robert Quine. I was just talking about him today too.

Livvie (Livvie), Monday, 7 June 2004 10:14 (twenty years ago) link

It's confirmed. He was on "Cupid and Psyche 85", even

Mr Mime (Andrew Thames), Monday, 7 June 2004 11:58 (twenty years ago) link

Oh sad! Robert Quine, I mean, not the Gipper.

Minty (Minty), Monday, 7 June 2004 12:34 (twenty years ago) link

Where did you hear? Do you know why he did it?

Minty (Minty), Monday, 7 June 2004 12:36 (twenty years ago) link

It got confirmed on some official Quine site, I think. I'm thinking he must've been like depressed.

It's impossible for you to hold your breath till you die...there is a reflex inhalation response when your blood oxygen levels fall below a certain level and if you try to strangle yourself and you do somehow manage to get as far as passing out your hands will relax also so you should be able to breath again...Its kind of ironic that people who try to kill themselves in such a way havent been eliminated from the gene pool by now...no offense intended, just trying to be helpful in your quest to snuff it!

Mr Mime (Andrew Thames), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 11:37 (twenty years ago) link

Mr Mime (Andrew Thames), Sunday, 13 June 2004 11:15 (twenty years ago) link

Still sad about Robert Quine. I had to tell William and he was distraught, he considered RQ to be "his man" or something.

Livvie (Livvie), Sunday, 13 June 2004 11:27 (twenty years ago) link

I hope he doesn't follow suit

Mr Mime (Andrew Thames), Sunday, 13 June 2004 13:25 (twenty years ago) link

Are you sure? You never seem that pleased to hear tales of William.

Livvie (Livvie), Sunday, 13 June 2004 13:33 (twenty years ago) link

No I hope he dies by his own hand soon

Mr Mime (Andrew Thames), Sunday, 13 June 2004 13:40 (twenty years ago) link
