I Hate K'Lee

Well "hate" is too strong a word, but I'm annoyed by the way she seems to have NO DISTINCTIVE FEATURES. W/the right makeup she seems to look like whatever the goal in mind is, ie. in the new issue of, um, Ralph (?) magazine. Is this not creepy?

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Monday, 16 September 2002 13:28 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh I agree

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Monday, 16 September 2002 13:31 (twenty-three years ago)

Creepy, yes. But a consistent marketing message all the same. Her face has no distinguishing features, she dresses like any other mallrat teenager, and her music is run-of-the-mill American Top 40 style rap-pop for the Kids. Do You See?

petra jane (petra jane), Monday, 16 September 2002 13:34 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah of course, maybe I should have said "I Hate Marketing" but that's too broad. I can't remember one of her songs, anyway.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Monday, 16 September 2002 13:36 (twenty-three years ago)

YES im too blanded out to say anything else about the poor girl.

donna (donna), Monday, 16 September 2002 19:47 (twenty-three years ago)

In the Escort section of the paper there is an escort called K-Lee. I just thought that might be important.

bri (bri), Tuesday, 17 September 2002 05:56 (twenty-three years ago)

Are you sure it isn't the same one? It's a step up from Just Jeans anyway.

petra jane (petra jane), Tuesday, 17 September 2002 06:33 (twenty-three years ago)

It very well may be the same one. You could always call the contact number. I can disguise my voice.

bri (bri), Tuesday, 17 September 2002 07:02 (twenty-three years ago)

sean o'reilly lives over the rd from K'Lee! or maybe the guy who writes her songs. anyway there's a car parked outside w/ a personalised number plate that says "FEEL IT" & he told me he's seen her going into that house.

unknown or illegal user (doorag), Tuesday, 17 September 2002 08:00 (twenty-three years ago)

She is the blandest of bland and I can never recognise her.

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Tuesday, 17 September 2002 08:06 (twenty-three years ago)

She's not as good as Paul Klee.

Damian (Damian), Tuesday, 17 September 2002 09:56 (twenty-three years ago)

Haha, i can just imagine O'Reilly in his unwashed INXS shirt, peeking through the venetians at K'Lee and co...creepy...

petra jane (petra jane), Tuesday, 17 September 2002 10:11 (twenty-three years ago)

K'Lee is a westie bogan and it's funny to see just how many wrong places she shows up in. Like... public. It was also funny seeing how her blood was needed for Matt's zine. Matt likes K'Lee.

alex, Tuesday, 17 September 2002 10:57 (twenty-three years ago)

In the Escort section of the paper there is an escort called K-Lee.
And nobody wants to know why Bri was looking in the escort section of the paper?

She is the blandest of bland and I can never recognise her.
Well she would make a great bank robber/car theif/international terrorist then, wouldn't she? Because no one could remember her well enough to identify her. "Err... she had um brown hair, maybe?"

Livvie, Wednesday, 18 September 2002 08:57 (twenty-three years ago)

jesus, does everyone read this board now?

any woman that will degrade themselves for the promise of a lot of money doesn't particularly need my hate, in my opinion.

webber (webber), Wednesday, 18 September 2002 13:03 (twenty-three years ago)

And nobody wants to know why Bri was looking in the escort section of the paper?
I told you i was looking at the movies! FOR YOU. ahh the pain.
I'm sure K-Lee is alright really. I mean she has chubby dancers in hotpants. No-one else has the balls to use chubby dancers. AND SHE CAN ADD (sort of). Hurruh!

bri (bri), Thursday, 19 September 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

What were the movies doing in the escort section, ehh Bri? Those sort of movies, huh? *nudges suggestively like Webber's mum* One plus one plus one is indeed not two. I needed K'Lee to tell me that though.

alex, Thursday, 19 September 2002 10:40 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh the movies are above the escort section. My eyes just happened to wander a little. NOT PORN. NEVER. notbri.

bri (bri), Monday, 23 September 2002 00:13 (twenty-three years ago)

I almost met the editor of Brass btw. He used to edit Real Groove in the year it was good... oh, how he has fallen.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Monday, 23 September 2002 00:43 (twenty-three years ago)

one year passes...
she can count. 1 + 1 + 1: it ain't two.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Sunday, 5 October 2003 07:05 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't even really remember K'Lee now!

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Sunday, 5 October 2003 09:09 (twenty-two years ago)

I can't remember what she looks like AT ALL and I wouldn't have remembered her songs if it wasn't for this thread.

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Sunday, 5 October 2003 09:12 (twenty-two years ago)

She's on Celebrity Treasure Island, she needed something to do, evidently.

Damian (Damian), Sunday, 5 October 2003 10:08 (twenty-two years ago)

How's Jase the Ace doing?

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Sunday, 5 October 2003 10:10 (twenty-two years ago)

I really hope he wins. I wish Thingee was on the island too.

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Sunday, 5 October 2003 10:26 (twenty-two years ago)

I want to know what the grading system is, sort of, in case I somehow degrade myself for money

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Sunday, 5 October 2003 11:39 (twenty-two years ago)

k'lee was kind of plain. i like anika moa better, she has cute dimples.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Sunday, 5 October 2003 22:26 (twenty-two years ago)

I recall encountering Anika Moa walking through the Rialto where I worked, and she was singing rather loudly. If I could have said anything, I would have said, "Look, I know you're a singer, so can you please shut up?" - it was a weird, weird scene.

Damian (Damian), Monday, 6 October 2003 09:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh man I wish you had

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Monday, 6 October 2003 10:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Was she singing one of her own songs?

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Monday, 6 October 2003 11:35 (twenty-two years ago)

I didn't recognise it as one of hers, but those are al fairly blah anyway.

Damian (Damian), Monday, 6 October 2003 12:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I like that 'Falling in Love Again' one quite a bit

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Monday, 6 October 2003 12:17 (twenty-two years ago)

A LOT in fact! Not as much as Bic Runga's 'Get Some Sleep', though

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Monday, 6 October 2003 12:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, Falling In Love Again was definitely the most bearable of them all. I think it was co-written with the singer from the Feelers - the two of them between them probably won't do anything as good again.

Damian (Damian), Monday, 6 October 2003 12:28 (twenty-two years ago)

They so far (and that song was a while ago, I think) don't seem to have much of ANYTHING since, yeah.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Monday, 6 October 2003 12:31 (twenty-two years ago)

You could argue that Anika Moa was just an attempt to cash in on the absence of Bic Runga anyway. These things happen.

Damian (Damian), Monday, 6 October 2003 12:37 (twenty-two years ago)

I'd lean more to the idea of cashing in on the success of "Beck" Runga, myself

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Monday, 6 October 2003 12:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Beck is never absent from the public eye for long enough to be missed, and as long as Bic Runga's album keeps selling, New Zealand has little need for Anika Moa.

Damian (Damian), Monday, 6 October 2003 12:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Ah but then there's no need/want for Anika!

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Monday, 6 October 2003 12:54 (twenty-two years ago)

What I found embarrassing was when they re-issued her album with that fakesexy cover.

Damian (Damian), Monday, 6 October 2003 21:56 (twenty-two years ago)

who?;/

jonathan gittins (nevermind^), Monday, 6 October 2003 22:20 (twenty-two years ago)

there is a need for anika moa. right here!! i am one of those people who won't stop singing, but i try hard not to do it in public.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Monday, 6 October 2003 23:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Damian that sounds horrible. Reissues (always w/BONUS TRACKS) are such a nasty trick.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Tuesday, 7 October 2003 00:24 (twenty-two years ago)

This one didn't have bonus tracks as far as I know, just different artwork.

Damian (Damian), Tuesday, 7 October 2003 08:35 (twenty-two years ago)

That's just stupid.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Tuesday, 7 October 2003 08:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Jonathan, they're a couple of pretty similar NZ female MORish singersongwriters. Aren't you glad you know now?

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Wednesday, 8 October 2003 00:42 (twenty-two years ago)

haha, i feel infinately enlightned and joyous now.

jonathan gittins (nevermind^), Wednesday, 8 October 2003 06:38 (twenty-two years ago)

one month passes...
i heard 1+1+1 it aint two in oamaru the other day, it was truly a fantastic song.

"these ain't my panties and that ain't my skanky bra". who is her lyricist and can i steal him/her? (well, as long as it AIN'T matty j ruys anyway)

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 07:45 (twenty-two years ago)

ten months pass...
i think that K'lee is a gr8 singer and that you guys have got really sad lives to start up a web site which is contributed to bitching about a younge female artist. i also think that matty J is a gr8 man and produced some great songs in the past!!!

penny, Monday, 11 October 2004 19:14 (twenty-one years ago)
