i just sent off my courier pack with cd-r and letter to peter king. i am now officially awaiting production of my debut 7" (pseudo-)vinyl ep.

everyone wants a copy, right? - it's only a proposed 20 copy run, so i'm gonna go with unique artwork on each 7"...

ps. i need help doing some of the sleeves, anyone keen?

is this id0ls of eve or a solo project (& if so, whatchu doin huh huh huh?)? I'll have a copy if you reissue it on 3" cdr or something - don't have a turntable & am still vaguely anti-vinyl. love the ways mp3s sound &c&c&c.
with the artwork - do you want people to do random stuff, stuff based on a theme/title/&c, alter/"remix"/whatever existing sources, or . . .?

oh, & it's a good a thread as any to ask what the renderers are like live at the moment - playing the kings arms sometime this month, & I'm looking forward to it lots but can't remember whether bible black was indicative of a more general slide in (whatever).

this is me solo, and coincidentally im releasing it as 'a million lights' - named after the renderers song. its instrumental pieces constructed out of bass guitar and studio trickery. i might end up putting it out as a mini or regular cd-r release.. but we'll see
the artwork can be as random as you want.. though i'll disect or at least defame each piece with the EPs details etc.

the renderers get better with age.. and that bible black album was great too.. brian is a real force at the moment, and maryrose is, well, maryrose. i think robbie's got hearing problems though, he kinda struggled at the chch show and it was a bit sloppy, but it didn't matter

Hey IRE's back!
S, The Renderers are unfuckingbelievably great. If you miss that show I'm personally coming up to Auckland to slap you upside the head. Or I'll just get Andrew to do it for me, or something.
Apparently the Bible Black Auckland show was completely ruined by bad sound engineering.

how much is it chris?

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Tuesday, 20 July 2004 07:18 (twenty-one years ago)

it'll be $10 a pop i guess. its a 4 song ep.. but it'll be a couple months before its ready i guess, hence the asking for art contribs. hey di lent me the telepaths cd the other day - i played you guys on the kiwi music show!

chris andrews (fraew), Friday, 23 July 2004 04:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh yeah I thought you'd know, I like these things quite a bit sometimes. Hopefully you'll get a good pressing.

Andrew Blood Thames (Andrew Thames), Friday, 23 July 2004 04:18 (twenty-one years ago)

& to pointlessly point out - oops split a infinitive sorry - that they're not "pressed" but cut each one individually on a lathe

hey we got all 20 yesterday (quickest run ever!), and fran and i put together 6 covers last night, with the rest to come

chris andrews (fraew), Sunday, 25 July 2004 20:18 (twenty-one years ago)

how was peter yesterday?

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Sunday, 25 July 2004 22:35 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah he was cool, we just kinda breezed through on the way home. he's a pretty nutty character, but well-meaning. on saturday he showed us some of the stuff he put together and whatnot - had some ultra-low issue sonic youth triangular 8" ep (after professing that he doesn't even know who sonic youth _are_), and a picture disc for playboy..

chris andrews (fraew), Sunday, 25 July 2004 23:32 (twenty-one years ago)

hey di and duane - i've got copies of the ep winging its way down to dunedin at the moment - rob scott's acting as courier for me (though the bats played wellington last night) and will be dropping a box of 6 copies off with roy colbert, you could pick them up directly from records records in a couple days i guess. there's a copy there meant for hamish hamish too..

chris andrews (fraew), Sunday, 1 August 2004 21:22 (twenty-one years ago)

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Monday, 2 August 2004 00:42 (twenty-one years ago)

chris andrews (fraew), Monday, 2 August 2004 23:19 (twenty-one years ago)

chris andrews (fraew), Monday, 2 August 2004 23:28 (twenty-one years ago)

NIce photo of Stefan in latest of mag "Staple" (I haven't read the article, just glanced through in the shop).
ps. If a mod could take Hamish's last name out of that post would be great if you can be bothered that would be great.

cuspidorian (cuspidorian), Wednesday, 4 August 2004 09:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Well none of the other mods bothered so I did it

Andrew Blood Thames (Andrew Thames), Wednesday, 4 August 2004 13:36 (twenty-one years ago)
