I Hate the Fonz

Well I don't hate him really, I just think he's actually quite uncool. His office is the TOILETS. He spend a lot of time in the TOILET. He doesn't even go out with that many girls and looks about 10 years older than all his friends!
I would like the Fonz action figuire though, with thumbs up power.

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Monday, 25 November 2002 04:54 (twenty-three years ago)

Also isn't it funny how in the later Happy Days episodes the theme is just full of shots of Fonzie because all the other good characters have gone and the show has become really boring?

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Monday, 25 November 2002 04:55 (twenty-three years ago)

And he hangs out w/his way younger nephew (? I don't really know much about "Chachi", I know he dresses like it's the 70s on a 50s show) and his girlfriend an awful lot. And he's a teacher. The guy who ended up on Married w/Children's character's pretty lame too. Tv, it all sucks.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Monday, 25 November 2002 04:56 (twenty-three years ago)

Chachi's always wearing that denim get up. It's like they stopped caring about making it look like the 50s.

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Monday, 25 November 2002 04:59 (twenty-three years ago)

Chachi's 70s flair was just TOO HOT to deprive the audience of.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Monday, 25 November 2002 05:37 (twenty-three years ago)

No Fonz = no Disco Stu. I don't want a world without Disco Stu.

Damian (Damian), Monday, 25 November 2002 09:29 (twenty-three years ago)

hanging out in toilets: the fonz = george michael.

di smith (lucylurex), Tuesday, 26 November 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I'll take the Fonz over George Michael. PHWOAR, yeah

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Tuesday, 26 November 2002 01:03 (twenty-three years ago)

he wants yoursex.

di smith (lucylurex), Tuesday, 26 November 2002 01:09 (twenty-three years ago)

I hate the Fonz too. His grey hair makes me feel a bit sorry for him. If I was one of the girls who are supposed to swarm around him, I'd kick him even if I got fined and the studio blackened my name.

maryann (maryann), Tuesday, 26 November 2002 07:24 (twenty-three years ago)

Poor Arthur. The Fonz=cartoon 50s rock n' roller, Disco Stu=smae thing for disco? W/similar voice and mannerisms? Good for the Fonz, DS is great, at least for his first appearance.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Tuesday, 26 November 2002 12:47 (twenty-three years ago)

Disco Stu is an apparent cross between John Travolta and the Fonz. He likes disco music and also doesn't advertise.

Damian (Damian), Tuesday, 26 November 2002 13:33 (twenty-three years ago)

they shouldve made the fonz a ninja, he would 0wn

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Friday, 29 November 2002 09:33 (twenty-three years ago)

cool

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Friday, 29 November 2002 09:34 (twenty-three years ago)

Andrew Thames I went to your home town today! But I didn't know where you lived. I went to the beach.

maryann (maryann), Saturday, 30 November 2002 03:25 (twenty-three years ago)

Actually we saw you in New World doing some shopping! Did you see us? We looked kinda townish.

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Saturday, 30 November 2002 20:34 (twenty-three years ago)

I was visiting Andrew you see

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Saturday, 30 November 2002 20:34 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh wow you saw me! But which ones were you guys? Did I look at you? Weren't you sure it was me?

maryann (maryann), Sunday, 1 December 2002 07:08 (twenty-three years ago)

Is Elisabeth quite pretty? I saw a few pretty girls. Oh wait, were you guys sitting outside the Orewa library on the ground, smoking, sending texts on your mobile phone and talking about getting pissed? Oh no that was everybody else.

maryann (maryann), Sunday, 1 December 2002 07:10 (twenty-three years ago)

I want to see you three!

Andrew and Elisabeth, I dreamed I met you and you glowed/hummed and everyone wanted to be around you because of this beatiful aura buzz you had.

spectra, Sunday, 1 December 2002 08:08 (twenty-three years ago)

Ha, someone said we had an AURA once, really. Thank you. M yeah I was just about sure it was you, but you were w/a dude and we're pretty shy anyway. I don't recall you noticing us. I sang the "Gilligan's Island" theme but you prob didn't hear.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Sunday, 1 December 2002 10:45 (twenty-three years ago)

I was wearing a black and white skirt and Andrew was wearing a blue shirt. Spectra, you should visit Auckland. Why not!

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Monday, 2 December 2002 01:27 (twenty-three years ago)

I wish I heard that Gilligan's Island theme!

maryann (maryann), Monday, 2 December 2002 02:03 (twenty-three years ago)

We weren't getting the words very right "the millionare did this and maryann did this um"

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Monday, 2 December 2002 02:04 (twenty-three years ago)

"No rats no cats no aeroplanes, not a single luxury". Next time we'll be bold, dude or not. Two strangers at once was a bit much, I guess.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Monday, 2 December 2002 10:12 (twenty-three years ago)

Rats and cats, what luxuries!

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Tuesday, 3 December 2002 01:09 (twenty-three years ago)

YOu should've 'rushed the mic' at the front of the supermarket to perform the Gilligan's Is. theme!

maryann (maryann), Tuesday, 3 December 2002 03:51 (twenty-three years ago)

'No rats, no cats, no aeroplanes'???

maryann (maryann), Tuesday, 3 December 2002 03:52 (twenty-three years ago)

It seems to fit the meter.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Tuesday, 3 December 2002 05:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Like, I don't actually think those are the words at ALL, but they always come into my head.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Tuesday, 3 December 2002 05:07 (twenty-three years ago)

the FONZ came into the record store i used to work at in L.A. and he was really really short. like 5'4"

except he had a really big head. the head of a taller person

so he pretty much had a 5'2" body, and a 5'4" head

JasonD (JasonD), Tuesday, 3 December 2002 08:02 (twenty-three years ago)

That's not cool either

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Tuesday, 3 December 2002 08:10 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh man he's short, that's very strange.

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Tuesday, 3 December 2002 08:42 (twenty-three years ago)

one year passes...
I'm reviving this thread to announce that Happy Days is quite good at the moment, and the Fonz isn't that uncool yet. 4:30PM on Prime.

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Thursday, 18 March 2004 03:57 (twenty-two years ago)

you know who was way cooler than the Fonz? TOP CAT.

J.D. (Justyn Dillingham), Thursday, 18 March 2004 05:16 (twenty-two years ago)

NOT TOP CAT. YUCK!!

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Thursday, 18 March 2004 08:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Top Cat: worst cartoon character in the history of the medium. Yes, that includes Scrappy Doo.

Minty (Minty), Thursday, 18 March 2004 09:56 (twenty-two years ago)

what's wrong with Top Cat? is this like a NZ thing?

J.D. (Justyn Dillingham), Thursday, 18 March 2004 10:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Scrappy Doo hate is so old and played-out, it's like the 1979 version of Jar Jar Binks hate.

J.D. (Justyn Dillingham), Thursday, 18 March 2004 10:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Top Cat is so arrogant.

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Thursday, 18 March 2004 10:55 (twenty-two years ago)

And not amusingly so. I might ask my Mum, she fucking LOATHES him.

Mr Mime (Andrew Thames), Thursday, 18 March 2004 11:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Actually, I retract my previous statement - The Great Gazoo is the worst cartoon character ever. Top Cat's not far behind, tho.

Minty (Minty), Thursday, 18 March 2004 21:27 (twenty-two years ago)

hmmmm. where does your mum stand on Sgt Bilko?

J.D. (Justyn Dillingham), Friday, 19 March 2004 04:19 (twenty-two years ago)

at least the Great Gazoo inspired that awesome line on the Simpsons spinoff showcase episode about future episodes featuring "a little green space alien named Ozmodiar that only Homer can see!"

J.D. (Justyn Dillingham), Friday, 19 March 2004 04:29 (twenty-two years ago)

When I was a kid I thought the Fonz was pretty cool. I am just really thankful I was so awed or whatever that I did not try to emulate him by shortening my name. Happy days has some really odd plot summaries in the tv guide - for instance I saw one the other day. Fonzie makes a diamond shaped collage of pictures of his girlfriends. fascinating. Anyone remember the episode when the um err, what was the family called? the Cunninghams got inflatable armchairs and Fonzie exploded one?

I have to admire Henry Winkler for his involvement in the production of Macgyver though.

Menelaus Darcy (Menelaus Darcy), Saturday, 20 March 2004 16:42 (twenty-two years ago)

reading what Jenny says about Happy Days is eight billion times more interesting than watching it.

rainy (rainy), Sunday, 21 March 2004 01:34 (twenty-two years ago)

six years pass...

hung out with this guy today, milwaukeeans know him as the "bronze fonz"

del griffith, Saturday, 5 June 2010 23:01 (fifteen years ago)

bronze fonz is closely related to the fonzie scheme

Daniel, Esq., Saturday, 5 June 2010 23:06 (fifteen years ago)

bernard madoff didn't ask himself the key, fundamental question, which is what got him into this mess:
