My 10 year old daughter has a friend at school who has 2 "Moms." The parents keep their relationship very low key, calling each other roommates, but after a while it is very apparent they are in love with each other. My concern is that while spending the night at my house recently the little girl was talking to my daughter about women being in love with each other, etc. This child has psychiatric problems and is on medications for behavioral problems and also sees a psychiatrist. Both of these girls are showing signs of puberty. I dont want to be judgemental but I feel like I should give my daughter some direction that gay relationships are not the norm for everyone and she should not explore that aspect of sexuality although her friend might be delving into that area. (The little girls already shows signs of gender confusion.) I dont want to prejudice my daughter, but I do want to protect her and direct her. How do I address this without scaring my daughter, ruining her friendship or anything else negative.
