Sorry because this is probably the wrong thread for this, but I want a decent controller pad under $200 and was thinking of going with the Alesis Controlpad Percussion Control Pad. Any better recommendations?

hmm, that looks cool, but i think the pads are probably too small (i want to integrate the pad surfaces into my drum setup so that i can just kind of whack a pad on occasion without having to aim for a tiny surface)

i guess if you already have a laptop, one of those alesis pad controllers is way cheaper than getting a roland spd-s.

if anyone wants to use some of my vocals on their tracks, let me know. my voice is kind of soulflexible, it would be good for some things that i do not know how to produce myself. thanks.

re: pads, the video game rock drum pads/controllers that sometimes are very cheap on clearance are electronically identical to alesis/roland edrum pads (they are just these very cheap components surrounded by rubber padding), and sometimes interchangeable even without adapters, and the adapter is usually a 1/8" -> 1/4" if there is one.

I always feel trepidation about posting about my music project. I suck at self-promotion. But I've been uploaded a song a week so far in 2012 - up to 22 now - on Bandcamp (and now Aurovine as well). It's gotten a handful of downloads, but nothing near the attention some of my earlier releases received so I suspect I've already moved into "I liked the earlier stuff better" territory where I say that XXX is the best album I've made in years.
