I love the SYR series, especially the first two. There's this one guitar thing on "Cielo" where I thought, eep, that's a little too SY-ripoffy, but left it in anyway.

And fascinating stuff, Sund4r! The signal processing is blowing my mind.

holy shit I love 'Grammar' by Arc Pair. dunno if it's because I've been listening to them lately but there's something slightly Electrelane about this. good work!

canoon fooder (dog latin), Wednesday, 26 August 2015 19:23 (nine years ago)

thanks!! it was also recorded at home -- two different homes in two different states, in fact :)

La Lechera, Wednesday, 26 August 2015 19:42 (nine years ago)

at first i thought it was a live thing but then more elements got introduced. it's very organic/natural sounding.

canoon fooder (dog latin), Wednesday, 26 August 2015 19:44 (nine years ago)

karl malone this is really sweet. i may pass this on to a few people who might like it.
sund4r this is impressive. shame i can't see what you're doing here. would love a video at some point

canoon fooder (dog latin), Wednesday, 26 August 2015 21:57 (nine years ago)

Thanks, Tarfumes and dl. I keep wanting to make a video recording of a gig but something always goes wrong. This, from a couple of years ago, is probably the closest thing atm. My end of it is comparatively more basic, though: I was really just accompanying the student choir.

new song + animation by our own Karl Malone

lil urbane (Jordan), Wednesday, 30 September 2015 18:16 (nine years ago)

honestly i've been having a hard time leading up to this album release because it's been sitting around mastered for a long time now (beginning of the year, and the mixing was done awhile before that). i've moved on to other projects and feel like i already went through the whole emotional cycle (excitement, disappointment, acceptance) before it's even come out. but it's probably healthy not to have very many expectations.

lil urbane (Jordan), Wednesday, 30 September 2015 18:30 (nine years ago)

haha, you shouldn't be disappointed at all, the album rules from beginning to end!

I did a beattape type thingy of all the hip hop beats I created when I was really into that sort of thing. Lots of drum breaks and jazz samples; the best stuff is at the end of "side B", as I just got better as I went.

Keep in mind, that's mostly ancient history and I put it online only to preserve a digital copy.

Got recordings of a solo voice piece I wrote in April. Pretty different for me: first time I tried writing something for solo voice, working with text (outside of a songwriting context), or doing something with this sort of dramatic element.

cheers sund4r. I'm glad I had nothing to do with the making if the video though, even if it does make me laugh watching my friend try and get himself sectioned/placed on some sort of register
