Named after a well known (well, at least in fx nerd circles) forum that makes a fairly legendary pedal (fuzz related, so not a circuit lift), said forum has surprise surprise an original artwork logo/mascot that just happens to look very similar to this.

Actually this could just be a repository of pedal companies to avoid because of shady behavior. See also Vertex.

lol, there was a Vertex pedal in the recent Premier Guitar month-long pedal giveaway and I was like WHYYYYYYY.

The haunting mids thing had me shaking my head too. I've never actually been to the message board, but it's definitely one of those things where it gets brought up in conversation enough that I've heard about the board and the pedals. There's a tangible association with it, more than just being a meme.

The continued survival of Vertex is just so baffling to me.

Reverb.com did an interview with the guy a year or so ago too. Very weird.

Yeah, the more I read about the JHS guy, the more committed I become to avoiding his stuff. Was really bummed about Boss doing a collaborative thing with him a couple months ago.

Dunno if it counts, but there was some drama over on /r/guitarpedals several weeks back involving the dude from Cooper FX being a total dick to somebody over one of his pedals basically being defective and him taking it personally. Instead of just rectifying the issue, he resorted to all kinds of really stupid behavior. Full story here. Never played on one of his pedals, but I know that they are pretty well-received among the knob-twisting/weirdo noise maker type players.

god jhs has just gotten worse in the interim. he games the second hand market now.

(btw i still have mod status at r/guitarpedalsjerk. haven't used my authority in a long time. anybody got any hacks or mischievous advice to offer? i don't know how i got the status but i don't care about losing it if it pisses off some jhs minions.)
