Seymour Duncan reissue p/u's?

I recently acquired a Fender Jaguar (MIJ) that sounds nothing like my 1962 Jaguar that is very hard to keep in tune after more than 20-30 minutes of strenuous playtime. I was told the inferior sound quality was mostly due to the stock pick-ups. So I took a look at what Seymour Duncan had to offer and noticed that there are 3 pickups available for the very purpose of getting a better sound out of your Jaguar reissue.

The first SD pickup seems to be a more authentic sounding pickup and the latter 2 seem to be beefier, almost cheesier by description. What the hell?

Is there someone on here that has experience with the gear in question? Thanks!

From my experience, Duncan makes pretty good pickups for the price, but I have never had a Jaguar.

They do have sound samples up on the site.

The reason that your Jag sounds wrong is because the pickups in both the MIJ Jag's and Jazzmasters were NOT EVEN VAGUELY VINTAGE SPEC. If it makes you feel better, the MIJ Jazzmaster pickups are even more egregiously wrong than the Jag ones. Also, pickups very certainly age and modify over time (lose magnet strength, etc.)

For your best option, I would look here:

(Sorry about the frenzy at the beginning there, but I'm still irritated with fender over those pickups. Grrr...)
