combo organs by weight

does anyone know of a website that lists combo organs comparatively, by weight? i'm small and weak, but also tired of subjecting people to hilarious roland organ expansion card fakery.

i was thinking about a farfisa compact or something...

anecdotal advice is welcome too. or just post pictures of pretty combo organs. thanks!

i'm interested in this as well. i keep seeing old hammonds on craigslist for real cheap, sometimes free, but i don't have a way of moving such a bulky thing. i'd like to take one of those and saw off the stand/legs on it to make it somewhat portable. usually there is some sort of pedal/s housed in that part though.

this site is pretty good (no weights though)

I hate playing with organ players, they always want you to help with their dollies and speakers and shit. I've already got drums to carry, bitches!

Hammond is making a very nice compact organ these days.

Though it doesn't have weight specs, www.combo-organ.com has loads of information. If you're trying to stay away from looking like a jackass with a Nord Electro (an ARMY of those dudes at SXSW this year), it's hard to beat the repairability (and, through the right speaker, versitility) of the pre VIP Farfisas. There's a lot of 60s combos out there for cheaper that sound v. similar though. But yeah, the 70s Rolands are hernia-makers!

"...bassist, Ronnie, was rhythm guitar and some keyboards - our bass player missed the "shoot" so he stood in, also note that Pat, who is at the keys probably was "hunt & peck" at best but obviously faked it better than Ronnie; re use of gear - we never used a single item, management put us into the opportunity but without discussion with the boys in the band so there was more than a bit of sarcasm bandied about during the session - I wouldn't be surprised if the chording is Ronnie's effort to show our lack of appreciation for the situation. Groovy beads I'm wearing, eh, dude?"

farfisas are heavy. I also have an Elka Panther (or I should say I recommended it to my then girlfriend, who bought it, never played it, then left it with me when she went to london) and it's smaller and more portable then the farfisa, and was dirt cheap. For all intents and purposes, it sounds like a combo organ.

I think it's that one but I think the internal speaker shuts off.

it may not be much lighter then a farfisa, but it's smaller and less cumbersome and cheaper.

what's a reasonable price for the elka? i found a CHEAP farfisa ($350) on craigslist, but passed on it, mainly because it red. i don't really like the red farfisas...i'm really shallow about combo organs' looks mainly because so many of them are so lovely.

three months pass...
hey people.
i have a farfisa combo compact 1964 and an elka panther duo.
the farfisa weighs the same as a small hippo! but is to my ear much better sounding and versatile that the panther which is more easily lugged about. more like an average pig.
but you get what u pay for, panthers are much cheaper.

The Elka is Definitely lighter! And I think is a better organ. I've used a number of FX boxes on it for delay and flange and rotary FX and the high frequency "bite" comes through very nicely. I bought it NEW in 1967, and it still works fine. I'm doing a bit of electronic mods to it, and building a new acrylic leg stand in 1950's "Forbidden Planet" motif complete with three channel color organ driven LED lighting. It'll be cool when it's done.

I've got a Vox Super Continental. It's the Godzilla of all of these
