i have a technical question!
i've got a bunch of voice stuff to record for a radio project. i've got a powerbook with line-in, a couple of mics, and a pre-amp. but i'm not sure what program i should actually use to record the audio? audacity? garageband? something else cheap and/or free and/or easy to find?
any thoughts would be appreciated!
thanks!

I need to record my voice for something -- but I don't have a Mac or a good mic. My best bet is probably doing this voice-recording gig on a Mac-friend's computer, right? *assuming they have garageband, accessories etc.

Do you have a PC? If so, get a cheap mic, and download REAPER.

or just download audacity for free, plug some headphones into the mic port and speak into the right ear

Will look into doing one of those two things. Thanks.

seconding the "get a cheap mic" and "get audacity" recs

Or for very basic non-multitrack recording, try wave editor Wavosaur...http://www.wavosaur.com/It supports VST plugins so there's still a lot that can be done with it.
