got tips on using emagic's 6|2m?

i seemed to have installed it correctly on my pc (win.xp) which wasn't as straight forward as it should have been. now i'm trying to get it to work with cool edit pro 2 and i only seem to see one line in where i should be seeing 6. since apple acquired emagic it seems it's impossible to get any useful info on the hardware anywhere on the web. anyone got tips or links to sites concerning it that i'm not finding through extensive google searching? thanks

Have you updated the drivers?

i have. i can see the 6 inputs but i can't really figure out to control how their assigned. i think it's just that the odd ones are left and the even ones right and so they lay on top of each other. plus i can't seem to control the record level, which is a real pain. it's just not seeming as well made as it should.
