Howlin' Rain C/D

This band is really killing me. Reminiscent of Faces, Blue Cheer, Foghat, the Band, Grateful Dead, early '70s pot smokin rock, all stuff that I love, and it's sympathetic but I don't think just a nostalgia trip. The songs that I've heard (I admit, only 2 of them so far) are very solid, with an injection of '06 guitar noize that surprises, some nice horn parts, a banjo, and did I mention great guitar playing? Can I call it classic, or is my vision clouded by the purple haze? Is the rest of the record as good as "Rolling on the Rusted Days" and "Calling Lightning with a Scythe"?
