very specific digital delay question

i know that there already another DD thread but .... this board isnt exactly bursting at the seams with threads (yuk yuk)\

ANYWYAS i want to be able to sync digital delays to tempos n shit, like in order to have the guitar synced with say a sequencer. pretty basic trick but iim styimed by tap tempo. it just never seems to be accurate enough (maybe i just need mor practice?) anyways, im assuming that this feature (ie, setting a numerical bpm with like a dial or something) is pretty basic on some rack/higher end floor units. the questions then become: this is true, right? and if so, what are some models to check out?

It's true. no idea what models to look at.
Well the M Audio Black Box would do it, but you're looking at more htan a Digital delay then. Probably about the same price as a fancy rack thing... A Digitech processor with MIDI would do it, as well.

have a look at the boss dd-20. it doesn't have midi sync but you can specify the exact delay time...

I think you would pretty much have to use some clock syncing (i.e. MIDI sync) between devices no matter how accurate the delay time. There will always be some clock drift between two independent time sources, and it will inevitably cascade off of the time measure.

just hook the kick drum output on the drum machine up to the delay

so -- i will say here that im a huge novice when it comes to this stuff -- could i use a midi sync between any two devices with midi inputs eg a digital delay and a sequencer?

not every digital delay will do that.
