so hi, i'm a composer/singer, and i desperately need some feedback. i've gotten some, but not enough. and you know, you can't trust most people's taste these days, so i can't let just anyone here stuff. um, yeah, my main influences are Kate Bush, Bjork, The Breeders, Pink Floyd, Tori.

Does anyone with similar influences write songs they'd like to exchange for mine for some constructive (honest) criticism?

that'd be really cool!!!

Ummm.
Those influences put together don't quite hit me right, but maybe I'm off.
I mean, I like everything but Tori Amos(friends of mine do, but I think she dwells on similar material too much and I don't like HER), but I just can't picture it.
mail me a clip and I'll give you an honest and hopefully respectful critique.

You need to turn up the gain and stand next to your amp.

i'm surprised - those influences are pretty interconnected! i mean with the exception of The Breeders. But Pink Floyd and Kate Bush have a definite connection, as do Kate Bush and Tori, and Kate Bush and Bjork.

; ) thanks for your offer to critique! i'll keep you posted. and thanks for the advice steve - i have heard that before.

Well, they have common threads, but the things that DO differ differ on a very basal level. The places the music came from is all over the map, really.
The notes themselves may be similar, but the reason the notes were made is different is what I mean.
