As a noted songwriter (!) I packed it in around 1990 or thereabouts. Ran out of things to say, and doing songs that were just songs seemed too easy and/or boring.
More recently, I got the yen again. Some daft threads on ILM where I ended up free-associating, some where song lyrics were requested, and a completely different web-based 'rock' game where you had to make up endless streams of song titles, gave me some inspiration(s).
Now, a friend of mine who just moved house has invited me down to check over his newly installed set-up (recording PC, DI Drumkit, etc) and so a vague arrangement to do some 'new' stuff has been booked.
New songs! I haven't actually written any of them down yet. They're all up there. Purely by coincidence, I set up a keyboard in my own living room for Amber and Alice to begin learning how to. I don;t play piano, but they don't know that. (At some point soon, Amber will start lessons proper. Alice could, but she has teh little hands)
Anyway, no brief, no direction, just let's kick some ideas over two evenings and see what occurs.
Now I've bookmarked "IMM" so this could be the start. Or the start of the end!
WML!

Hopefully you're hard at work on the music for "Bollywood Strep"...
